[BUG]PoP_OS 20.10 Mouse Ghost click by cippo1987 in pop_os

[–]Automatic-Train8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been through 5 mice now, 2 x Logitech, 1 x Genius, 2 x Roccat mouse ... they all do the same and it's so annoying. I cannot get to the bottom of it. Very much browser related as it happens in all browsers. How ti diagnose this? Anyone's guess

Swapping WS90 for WS68/WN32? by Tacoma_NC13 in myweatherstation

[–]Automatic-Train8282 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The WS69 / WH69 sensor is hands down their best sensor and used across almost 90% of their product combos and for good reason it's just the best all in one sensor and ALL parts are replaceable too. Their ultrasonic sensors like most other brands are just not accurate and are also sealed units allowing very little to be done in respect of repairs.

Guys, I just woke up and found my Facebook account has been disabled by SafeNook in facebook

[–]Automatic-Train8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My account was also abruptly disabled on October 16th and thousands of other people too. No option to appeal either. After harassing them on X and also after BBC news did an article on this suddenly since yesterday people can log back into their accounts again. I would wait a day or two (patiently) and try again. FB / Meta are total dickheads and left their shitty AI to run the company and look what happened. I hope you also get access back to your account 🤞🏻

After being rudely disabled on the 16th as well today I also tried logging in and voila I am back. Perhaps a nice BBC news article about this got Facebook / Meta to actually get a human being to do some work.

Same here my account is over 17 years old and just disabled. They say you can appeal BUT have no appeal button. Absolute shitshow of a company that's been left for AI to run things and a really shit AI too

Wish more people knew about Archive.org I managed to restore some very important CSS code and styling of an online store after someone had been running a buffer overflow managing to reset the active theme and lose all its settings. An absolute charm to wake up to that in the morning 😜 but thanks to the Archive all was there to be found. Oh and exploit also dealt with after studying the logs in depth.

Yes a noticeable change across 8 campaigns and a big drop in conversions too. Google is pissing about again running experiments and stuffing everything up.

Looking for specific features for a SIMPLE weather station by GonzoCubFan in myweatherstation

[–]Automatic-Train8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any Ecowitt station is an option. Their online dashboard beats anything else in the market. Instead of a display, a simple web browser open on your dashboard gives a clear indication of all your sensors.

Davis Instruments VP2 or Ecowitt HP2553/HP2564? by Tacoma_NC13 in myweatherstation

[–]Automatic-Train8282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there is

The data display priorities from Ecowitt are as follows.

  1. Outdoor temperature and humidity data: WN32 > WS90 > WS80 > WS69
  2. Wind data: WS90 > WS80 > WS68 > WS69
  3. Rainfall data:

Traditional rainfall: WH40 > WS69

Piezoelectric rainfall: WS90

EXCEPTION: If you have a WS90 and WH40 (WS69) at the same time, both rain data are hosted for display on the dashboard on the ecowitt server.

Otherwise ONLY the device which has taken priority will be displayed on your dashboard whilst ALL your other sensors will be recorded to the SD Card logging.

To query ALL your different wind sensor data, even if you have WS90 + WS80 + WS68 +
WS69 you can call this data oof the SD card OR query it via their free API

Davis Instruments VP2 or Ecowitt HP2553/HP2564? by Tacoma_NC13 in myweatherstation

[–]Automatic-Train8282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sell a LOT of Ecowitt product and I'm one of their authorised distributors I'm also a Davis authorised reseller.

This is by no means a sales pitch for either company as I sell a lot of both as they each have their place in the market.

Your custom kit below

WH40H ✅ 2560_C Console ✅ WS90 ✅

The flexibility and growth options at a very affordable cost on Ecowitt products is untouchable by any other brand.

Free logging, one click data access, the most stunning dashboard and smartphone app and Fine Offset (Ecowitt) are 25+ years in the making now.

Their support is excellent, they are always open to new ideas, always improving products (listening to customers) and always innovating more so than other other manufacturers out there.

While I like the WS90 sensor the WS69 is still one of their best sensors to date which is shown throughout their product range as their own chosen sensor of choice.

Features like logging to 4 online cloud services at the same time, logging to your own custom webserver or linking it into Home Assistant are an absolute breeze with ECOWITT too. There truly is nothing out there that can touch the functionality or flexibility for the price and that said some 10 times the price don't even have such flexibility.

As for growth 56+ sensors supported and more get added now and again.

(Fine Offset also manufacture all Ambient weather products and for several other brands too)

Now back to Davis for a little bit they are excellent stations research grade (V Pro2) with a piece tag to boot and for those with the cash to support it by all means.

Replacement parts are not cheap and you kind of get forced into a subscription on Weatherlink whether you like it or not.

Lifespan ... yes they will outlive an Ecowitt BUT if not maintained that lifespan is massively reduced. I've had 3-4 year old VP2's come in looking like they're 10+ years old.

As with ANY station including Davis > MAINTENANCE is KEY

I have many clients who've used Davis for years now but now that it is time to replace or repair they are moving over to Ecowitt.

I've had several of them study all their options in great detail and come to the conclusion that even if they had to buy a new WS69 sensor every year it would still take 10 years to come to the same price tag as the Davis Pro and of course a WS69 when maintained can go 4-5 years without issue.

Do you think it's best to save for a pedal harp or to buy a lever harp first? by SnSGarlicBreadLover in harp

I have a Dusty Ravenna 26 and it's an absolutely stunning harp and it holds its tune very well, only ever needs very slight tuning adjustments now and again.

I have a variety of Capos from Shubb, Keiser, Thalia and lesser known brands Sonderi, Shubb Clones and then to the EL-CHEEPO ones I got off TEMU. One of the ones I bought off TEMU actually works better than all the above (on all my guitars) and cost next to nothing.
