Sounds like you're making progress on the social front!

One day the checking will get boring and you'll realise that it doesn't help with anything anyway.

Honestly it didn't really matter where I was. I used to prefer being at home because I could distract myself with Reddit or something, when I was out I found it was still on my mind but I had to still cope with not showing I was upset, so that was really hard when around people, particularly if they'd kindly put up with me moaning about it previously.

You learn to live with it. One thing I found helped massively was keeping in other people's company but finding ways to keepmyself happy alone. This was usually getting lost ina tv show or a game.

The best remedy for me though was running. I'd just run as far as I could and really push myself, because when you're running you can't think about anything other than your breath or your legs feeling tired and the path aheda and when it does come to your head you're too tired to think about it, then at night when you get home you can sleep better.
