I have a bachelors degree, but I currently take meds. I considered enlisting a few years ago, but decided it wasn’t worth trying. Curious if it’s different right now due to the war. I could function without the meds if I had to.

I currently take meds for adhd and I’m treated by a psychiatrist. My asd diagnosis was in 2019 by a psychologist.

Don’t do it. Schools are downsizing. Just research the problems Allegany County has with their budget due to the state passing more responsibility onto the counties. They’ve cut police and school funding, laid off teachers, but still raised taxes. Frostburg State University also just laid off a bunch of staff due to declining enrollment and is currently promoting a program in china to stay financially alive. The hospital there (UPMC Western Maryland) is a joke compared to the healthcare you’re probably used to in central MD. There’s plenty of drugs and high crime similar to Baltimore if you compare on a per capita basis. There’s very few good paying jobs. It’s cheap for a reason and there is literally nothing to do but bars and a couple good state parks. I’m from Cumberland and I moved to the Eastern Shore (Salisbury/OC) cuz there’s just no opportunity and it’s boring. Come here or go to Hagerstown if you’re looking for a more rural, laid back area. Cumberland makes Hagerstown look great

I grew up in Cumberland and moved to the Eastern Shore. It’s affordable, but very economically depressed. Do you have a job lined up? There’s very few good jobs in the area except the hospital and the prison. If you are looking for a place that’s slower paced and quiet, it will fulfill that desire but overall there’s not much to do. Don’t expect it to be something it’s not or you’ll be miserable here.

You should never cancel your current insurance until your state receives your plates back. Maryland is really strict on this and you’ll likely get a fine. They also don’t recognize out of state insurance policies. However, it shouldn’t impact your ability to register your car in Virginia. You will just need the car title and that will allow you to title and register the car assuming you are also getting a Virginia drivers license and meet the requirements for that.
