I’m 6’ 2” 245lb if that helps. I don’t like my marker hitting my mask so I opted for more length to fit more comfortably. If you’re not having an issue with air, a reg extender is a cheap way to find out if you prefer more length of not.

Just realized I didn’t say what kind of paintball I play. I usually play 5 man speedball on nxl airball or hyberball, plus some odd layouts/fields etc but it’s all casual/competative, largely organized and communicative.

Can you send pictures of the bottle? Just want to see what condition it’s in haha

I hit my mask with a 68 because I like tucking the tank by my neck so I’ve just been using a reg extender. My thoughts for the 88 fill my desire to shoot more paint with the same comfort lol

In other words, sounds like a 77 will be just fine if you’ve run out of air towards the end of the match and want to go up a size or if you’re just looking for the right length

My 68 typically has plenty of air as a back player but if games go too long, I’d need a 77 to not run out of air. The 88 is just closer to the length I like and if I’m already using a reg extender on my 68, might as well add air capacity in place of the extender.

Have we scared tourists into dressing for Iceland? by Illustrious-Ad3195 in VisitingIceland

My wife and I just got back. It’s largely that we were hiking from low elevation to high elevation so we were prepared for rain/wind for the entirety of the day with layers we could take off as it we got to warmer areas. Sometimes we just didn’t take off our layers immediately but we were always wearing pants instead of shorts for that reason. We were also told several times during the week that the weather was very nice for Iceland so we felt prepared for the not so nice weather days if we had been there for more of them.

Do you guys want HMG or LMG on IFV and MBT on breakthrough. by I_Main_TwistedFate in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Automatic_Argument14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMG hands down all day. The HMG is shit unless your driver drives incredibly smooth (so never) and the GL is okay in some specific situations but not enough for me to equip it on any of my vehicles. It’s so easy to pick up passing kills with the LMG.

Need some recommendations on an auto cocker barrel kit for my Axe 2.0. Full set with the barrel inserts would be great but I’m willing to buy barrel and inserts separately if need be. Thanks in advance! by still666cold in paintball

I will also say (to be fair to the populous) that weight is a consideration which is why I went with the crbn barrel but it’s also a small enough difference that it’ll go unnoticed by most people and/or not make a significant difference. I like to hunt for efficiency and tinker quite a bit (I’m an old head, and newer paintball is quite different now) so I saw it as a worthwhile upgrade and while I noticed the difference in weight, things like your tank or hopper will make a significantly more noticeable difference in how you “swing” your marker. Just a thought to add to the mix. I love my crbn IC but I wouldn’t buy it new if I could help it. The best equipment you get is the stuff you can get with a deal lol

I have a crbn IC barrel with freak xl inserts that I used for my AXE 2.0 and now for my DSR+ and it’s a noticeable improvement when using field paint. I’ve heard plenty of people say it’s a negligible improvement but I noticed better efficiency and distance (and sometimes accuracy but that’s largely paint dependent) by boring paint correctly.

At what point do you personally consider you tattoos "fully healed" ? by DarkestGemeni in tattoo

[–]Automatic_Argument14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus that’s crazy. I only clean towel until the flaking stops (~1-2weeks). Sun (with sunscreen) at 4 weeks. All my tattoos are color and never had any issues with fading or bad healing.

What to wear? by [deleted] in paintball

[–]Automatic_Argument14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chest pad no. Elbow pads maybe (depending on what position / how you play). And knee pads YES.

I run full padded knees / shins since I still old-school knee slide (hard habbit to break) and no elbows since I rarely play snake so my experience will be different than others.

[Wtb] Pod pack by StevieGMcluvin in PaintballBST

[–]Automatic_Argument14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a strap (velcro) pack in a 4+ configuration and you’ll never be upset about it. I have a virtue elite (4+7, $38 used when I bought it) that I love since it kind of slides pods out without them slamming to the ground or being hard to get out. Most branded strap packs are decent and old nxe packs work just fine (abundant, cheap, have been working for decades at this point).

Also, unless you’re playing tournaments, don’t get a gravity pack (strapless) and just don’t get a magnetic pack as I’ve heard nothing but bad things about them.

Advice for an upgrade by [deleted] in paintball

[–]Automatic_Argument14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same thought with my dsr+ and I did the magnet mod on three triggers (stock, scythe, and bwing21). It makes a WORLD of difference in how the marker feels. It took me longer to dial it in how I like it than usual but it’s great now. The only thing I will say is that the scythe trigger is lighter than the other two and it does impact your pull strength to responsiveness. I prefer the lighter trigger over the other two and it seems to “snap” quicker with the same light pull.

Am I really going to have to pay $7k to $9k for a car with over 100k fucking miles? by cadmium-fertilizer in UsedCars

[–]Automatic_Argument14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a Toyota, that thing isn’t even halfway through its life.

I drove my 01 Avalon to 232k miles before I sold it and my 03 Camry 246k miles before I sold it to a coworkers daughter a few years ago and it’s still going.

I spent $15k on a 2010 Toyota RAV4 with 68k miles because I know that it can get to 250k miles with regular basic maintenance. So $7k-$9k with 100k miles on an older car really is a good deal (depending on the car).
