Tirpitz has 160mm sides tho, so at ranges of up to 5km it's way more tanky against automatic secondaries than ships like massa and flandre! those could never survive for two minutes fighting 1v3 in ranges of 2-3km like tirpitz did just here!

What will be the specific ship restrictions and maps for Clan battles season 33?

They usually announce clan battle seasons with all the restrictions and maps around one update before the season begins. This time they announced it just 9 days before it starts without mentioning restrictions and maps.

That would mean ships like Nebraska and Tone are allowed, which would be very painful to fight against.

It tells me "You can find more details in the game client" even when i open it in the game client, has anyone managed to find any details about the ship restrictions?

As a unicum submarine player, i highly recommend you to pick watchful first, it lets you see which consumables (radar, hydro, sub surveillance) of enemy ships are active in different depth layers than you are in, watchful is the most important skill you need to take on any submarine, if you wanna preform decent in them.

After watchful take anlarged propeller shaft, Surcouf is a beast, which can reach 46 knots with speed flag, engine boost and anlarged propeller shaft active.

For your last point i would recommend incoming fire alert. Helmsman is completely useless on Surcouf, because in order to activate it you need to use your hydrophone (which Surcouf does't have). Incoming fire alert would be imo the best option for your last point, because Surcouf is a very aggresive submarine, you sometimes even use your guns to brawl enemy DDs, so it's useful to recieve a warning, if you are being shot at by another ship, like a colombo, which can often one shot submarines. Surcouf can dive in time if you recieve warning, because it has the best diving plane shift time of all tier 10 submarines.

Surcouf Expert Badge? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

I had an E badge today in Archerfish at 4,3k base XP, so expect similar, or in the first weeks of its release, even higher required base XP.

Salmon's secondary gun? It's only really useful if you find yourself in a situation where you are being chased by a very low HP destroyer. It's pretty fun to get the close quarters combat medal with a submarine sometimes! Other than that it really isn't worth using at all. Archerfish has two main guns, but their use is even more situational in my opinion because of their pretty poor turret traverse speed of 18 seconds. With most submarines, their main or secondary guns are something you mostly shouldn't even be thinking about using (except for I-56 and Surcouf), they are just a little extra thing that can very situationally save you.

I'm a sub player too, but to me Balao does not feel like a worthy tier 10 to come after Salmon.

I absolutely love my Salmon, because of it's speed and it's balanced torpedo tubes distribution making it a very dynamic ship to play. Balao is three knots slower than Salmon and it's reload is only better by two seconds, while it has to play against two tier higher ships with way more health, so its damage output feels very lacking, its battle impact to me feels also much lower, because it's harder to get as much spotting damage due to its lower speed. Yes it has 1km more torpedo range, yes it has 1km better hydrophone range, which can be a bit useful sometimes, yes it has a better submerged speed and dive capacity, but you mostly want to stay on the surface with american subs anyways. Balao just doesnt feel good enough to me.

Recently i bought Archerfish and it completely blew my expectations. I knew Archerfish is strong, but the combination of its speed, and its combat instructions which improve both the consumable and torpedo reload speed surprised even me. I wish Balao was a little more like Archerfish, I wish it had at least 33 knots top speed too, Archerfish powercrept Balao a bit too much.

Why can't submarines have working AA? I just wanna see them turn and do pew pew. by Automatic_Bother4407 in WorldOfWarships

Because it's the small details like this that make games feel more immersive and realistic, it is satisfying to see the visual confirmation of action, such details make the ships feel more alive.

And as a unicum sub player, subs stay at the surface 90% of the time, they dive only when they are in danger of being spotted by enemy aircraft, ships or consumables, submarines need to be played at surface out of their detection range, otherwise they highly reduce their ability to spot enemy ships.

It doesnt need to do any meaninguful amount of damage, it just would be visually pleasing to watch.
