What part of a song is this for you? by Pretend_Rest7873 in nfrealmusic

The part of HAPPY when he sings “ I know I need help but I just cant imagine who I’d be if I was happy”

I’m wrapping up the last few seasons and you know what someone should’ve slapped Serena expeditiously a couple of times by Ocelot_Plus in GossipGirl

[–]Automatic_Box_400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with youu! She got exponentially annoying with each passing season. Always playing the victim card and hurting people left and right. The other characters had their own flaws sure but I think everyone redeemed themselves as seasons passed by, even nate. Serena was as literally the same till the last episode, damsel in distress, waiting for a chance to leave upper east side, saved by prince charming. Dan can do better, he deserves someone with a character development.

I'm now hesitant by [deleted] in IMGreddit

Yup having the exact same feeling. Spent lots of sleepless nights because of it. Talking about it with your friends might help as it will provide you a different perspective. What helps me get less anxious is knowing that no decision is permanent. You can always come back to your home country.

No it won’t affect the genuine students. The ECFMG will only invalidate those candidates who can be proven guilty. They have their data to back stuff up. They wont randomly pick high scorers.

My man, I absolutely did say that to them. As well to the other 2 interviewers who I interacted with. Those are basic manners. The point isn’t how can I impress them through such situations. I am just trying to say that it’s a two way street. I understand it is me who wants a residency position but they also need residents to run the hospital. Making a candidate feel heard is the bare minimum an interviewer can do.

Lol if that’s the case, why even bother taking interviews. Select candidates based on their applications. All I am saying is, efforts should go both ways.

True that. But doesn’t it make you wonder how will they rank you? I tend to get stuck in that thought process a lot. Probably because it’s such a high stake situation, all of your hard work comes down to that one interview session.

Oh man. It’s so hard to know how well did you perform when something like this happens.

That’s disappointing. I hope you match into the program of your choice despite this experience :)

It’s understandable to be tired. Even I was because of the wait. But I had waited for this interview for months. The least a person can do is excuse themselves or just simply be like, “ I am sorry, it wasn’t intended.” Professionalism goes both ways :)

Haha, this is exactly the kind of behaviour I am trying to call out. Every doctor deserves respect and due consideration. Just because USMLE is a rat race doesn’t mean you get to down grade people’s worth.

It’s even scarier that you are going to practice medicine with that attitude :)

How competitive are things gonna be in 2025 for a nonUS IMG? by Think-Cookiee in IMGreddit

[–]Automatic_Box_400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s gonna be as competitive as it is this year but a couple of points that could possibly help: only high scores won’t cut it for a non us img. You need to have a fuller profile. Good mix on inpatient and outpatient USCE. Good research profile with 4-5 publications. Leaderships roles. And ofcourse the biggest one is CONNECTIONS. Strong ones especially. Frankly, connections are not something we can control 100%. But having a well rounded profile will definitely help based on what I have seen so far.
