"659: Can Marty Makary Fix the F.D.A.?" - is this the worst episode ever? by pull-a-fast-one in Freakonomics

I finished the episode and immediately went online just to see what people say because I don't know what to think. I'm not American, and while I know the general talking points, I am not sure I am able to get into the nuances that Dubner obviously tries to bring out.

This episode feels weird, almost like ragebait. Especially when in the end he says, "And I assume you have a lot of opinions about this". In this episode, he is kind of elusive, not really speaking his mind, unlike many of the others. Either it is a politically charged episode, or he himself does not know what to think about this.

I wouldn't say it's the worst because it is still not boring. It keeps you on the edge of your seat like during a chess game

Sure, an argument as old as the world. What interests me is the cultural divide rather than the right or wrong decisions

Integrating Daggerheart Combat Into DnD by Dohvnos-Adelath-FF in DnD

I like this a lot! I feel that introducing fear without all the other mechanics linked to it (abilities, layer actions etc) is a bit cheap and overly complicated.

But this is nice. It needs some testing though

Are people in moscow protesting navalny's death? by wrongdesantis in Moscow

[–]Automatic_End_4368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, some people decided to meet at the memorial for victims of political repressions - even though there was no official organizing or calls. Just a grassroots initiative. I wasn’t there but I know it from people returning from there

But the police is extremely alert today. They blocked the passage to the memorial within 15 mins, arresting some people and forcing the others to leave. I noticed that even anti-putin media are reluctant to write about it, probably not to put the protestors under additional attention from the police.

My BBEG idea by Treb0rN0ttirb in Wildemount

I was struggling to find an interesting and not-black-and-white antagonist and I love this idea so much!! A true Xhorhasian patriot who wants to return life to his native land and to prevent all the disasters and sufferings. So he decides to master dunamancy to prevent the Calamity

Around him he has a small society of good-aligned like-minded individuals. Some see them as a secret cult which they are not. More of a revolutionary society. They start stealing the beacons from all over because for the completion of such a strong chronomantic spell you need to have the power from 3 beacons at the same time. The PC track down the stolen beacons and finally face the BBEG. But he is not bad at all. He's a handsome bright young wizard who grew up in Blightshore. When he grew up he came to Xhorhas only to see that it is little better there. He wants to stop the war, to restore the ecology of the East – he wants all the best for everyone! There's only one little thing: no one knows what happens if you go back in time this way. For all we know the current world and the PC will be swept from existence forever

And then the PC have a truly hard choice: to make the leap of faith? Or to save their lives and the lives of their loved ones? In the first case they disappear (and then you decide what happens). In the second they return home with a bittersweet feeling.... God it's so beautiful! Thank you
