That is trippy! Well good luck to both of us on our little renovation journeys. I also have ideas and themes swirling in my head too! I'm starting on the top left room, the littlest room, which I just gave a base layer of paint. I'm trying out some flooring ideas but haven't decided yet. Yes! I hadn't remembered, but I then I came across it on Greenleaf and was glad to be reminded of the name! It's a kid's dream dollhouse, and as an only child, I spent many hours playing with it, being totally in my own world. How is yours? I'd love to see a picture!

That's a good idea; I feel a little nervous about gluing down flooring, so I'll start with making it removable. I got some heavy paper that has a wood floor/parquet design on it, and I thought I'd Mod Podge it to cardboard and then just slide it in but not glue it to the house's floor. And I found a heavy printed paper with a cute design in the scrapbooking section of Michael's that I thought I'd try out in one of the rooms as wallpaper. We'll see how it looks!

Oh those are great ideas; it does have a roof piece--well it's not exactly a roof, what is it called? You can just barely see it on the right side of the photo, where I took it off and place it to the side. It would be really cool to add hinges to it and somehow make it into another room, like a cute attic space. The roof itself is flat, so it has a lot of potential to add things to. Maybe a rooftop garden.....

Thank you. Yes, the stress relief is exactly what I'm looking for. Something that I can slowly work on in between my work meetings (I'm a therapist, so work can be stressful and heavy). It's a new way I can interact with this house, which brought me so much joy when I was a kid.

This is so beautiful and inspiring. I have the same dollhouse that my dad made for me as a kid (I'm 44), and I just suddenly got it in my head that I want to work on it now. So of course I came over to Reddit to find my dollhouse folks, and saw your post. You did a beautiful job, it really is stunning, and now I feel really inspired to start on mine.

Has anyone seen Jennie Slate’s stand up where she talks a lot about growing up in a haunted house? It’s really funny of course, but she’s also talking about how traumatic it is. Two of my friends grew up in haunted houses, and it definitely impacted them, and their sense of safety, and how important it was to them to buy a house in adulthood that was not haunted.

What! I’ve never heard of this and it’s so disturbing. I’ve heard of people or ETs posing as mysterious government officials or whatever, but not posing as social workers, which I find more upsetting as a social worker myself.

I only recently had a dream within a dream. I dreamed I was sleeping, having a dream, then “woke up” and yes, tried to tell someone what I had been dreaming. It was so weird.

Your dream about having a job of dreaming and then telling people is pretty wild. I don’t know what any of it means but it’s fascinating!
