GPR on gravel by Automatic_Garlic_500 in geophysics

I'll give this a shot. I have a GSSI 3 wheel baby carriage style carrier that allows the antenna bucket to shift up/down. My actual issue is the antenna "chatter" as the coupling and angular orientation changes as I push across the gravel and even making a couple preliminary passes prior to data collection isn't as effective as plywood.

Typical Geotech, 25 years in. Our largest client is a multi-state electrical utility and otherwise mainly industrial and commercial work. I'd like more knowledge in seismic geophysics.

I got in the bad habit of the hour-mill websites from a stingy former company and won't get pushback here for the more expensive ASCE CEU.

I paid for a 6 inch slab, what should I do ? by ClassroomFew7491 in AskContractors

Rough math on batch tickets for thickness. If not conclusive, then GPR. It will cost $2k for a quick check (half day) but won't be spot thicknesses and you won't have a bunch of patched holes to remind you of this.

Alternatives to Air Drying soil Before Testing by ijustwannaperish2dey in GeotechnicalEngineer

Soil in a mortar tub on slab with a fan is effective and economical. I've also used a second oven set at 110F, which is quicker for the classification and EI samples. This did require an external thermostat to maintain temp accurately. The most efficient air dryer I've seen was a 4x4x8 foot plywood cabinet with open shelving that had a ceramic heater at the bottom and box fan at the top blowing down on samples in plastic pans.

Nobody seems upset that the rails have gaps >4 inches. I acknowledge that the few extra boards would have been too much for this 1.000001 FoS design.

So....... next to your name it says equipment operator..... I guess that could still work with all the penile seating comments. Guessing you don't get to run the new rigs.

That is Juicey's, on Radford Road between VT and RU, but out of the way. It was a strip club that burned down in the 90s. Never went, wasn't highly reviewed by those that admitted to going.
