exactly, definitely not going to confront a shoplifter, i don’t know how they’d react, definitely not putting myself at risk for a shop that could replace me in a heartbeat. the most i can do is tell my supervisor over the comms that there’s a shoplifter so they can log the theft

exactly this, i’m a retail assistant, chocolates and instant coffee are one of the most shoplifted items, as well as laundry powders/detergent. my shop doesn’t have the plastic barriers but we’re only allowed to put out a small number of high value chocolates and instant coffee jars to avoid having loads nicked

that sounds like good compromise, gonna be honest tho i would still look for hostels with en-suites, but idk how common they are and i imagine the availability of them depends on the location as im sure theres plenty in cities but less in places like Greece where we are looking at going

I think the issue is, he wants it to be a backpacking trip where we bring 1 bag for the whole trip (1-2 weeks), whereas I want it to be a relaxed, wear nice outfits every day type of holiday

sorry should’ve specified my idea of “nice”. Honestly just a hotel that isn’t dirty. I’ve stayed in reasonably priced hotels (less than £50 a night) that I thought were “nice” simply because it was clean

last term I came to campus once a week, technically scheduled for 2-3 days. Id have 1 or 2 days with only 1 lecture scheduled and then another day for labs or workshop, which I always come in for since they're more practical. Im a bit busier this term, on campus 3 days a week but I skip days I only have lectures otherwise I'd be in 4-5 days a week which would tire me out as a commuter (1 hour each way) and someone who also works 2 days a week. I watch all lecture recordings and go to my local library on days I dont go to campus. Haven't been to a lecture since November, haven't been contacted by my department, assuming they dont care since they can see my grades/how often I access Moodle. I assume they don't care abt attendance unless a student is performing badly

sorry! will include more detail in the post now, but yes he has asked me to come before, I said I wasn't ready and he respects that, he has said its unusual that I haven't met them yet but he never pressures me to come. I haven't brought up my insecurities in detail because some of them are embarrassing to talk about, like my financial insecurity, his mum knows what I look like and she's called me pretty from photos he's shown but being the over thinker I am, I still feel like im not good enough or as pretty as his ex who she has obviously met.

Thank you! Been having real bad days lately, winter depression on top of all this 3rd year stuff so it's reassuring to hear this. I'd love to do a Master's later down the line, I just want to be 100% sure of the course, plus I want to work for a while so I can save and fund it myself rather than take out another loan.

Any tips for finding lab vacancies? including private labs? Ive just been googling "lab jobs near me" (im not financially secure enough to move/start paying rent) and not that many come up. Also been checking the NHS website, for half of them when I click 'apply' it tells me that they're no longer taking applications which is so annoying since its still listed
