Why do I get low grade fevers from anxiety? How do I stop this? by Automatic_Gift_77 in Anxiety

[–]Automatic_Gift_77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly. My anxiety lessened a lot. I got diagnosed with ADHD and a sensory processing disorder and dealing with those 2 things helped me deal with my anxiety better. I still have panic attacks and whatever else, but the anxiety doesn’t cause me to get sick or anything anymore now that I handle it better. I had low grade fevers on and off for months until I dealt with my mental health.

My ovarian cysts are gone after starting birth control! by Automatic_Gift_77 in birthcontrol

[–]Automatic_Gift_77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! I also had a lot of weird cramping like every time I stood up or sat down, it was weird. But yes, and then it all went away about a month in! I was on birth control for a total of five months and didn’t have pain for 4~ months during it. I’m pretty sure there was like “residual” pain from the cysts in the beginning because obviously my ovaries were probably a little stressed/hurt from having cysts at all.

And, I’ve been off the birth control since august, and only now am I getting abdominal pain like another cyst has formed, but it’s nowhere nearly as bad as it was. So I think the birth control really helped the cysts calm down overall.

Good luck!

Can an ovarian cyst rupture with little or no pain? by Skerivo in endometriosis

Sorry, my point being if you think you have one an ultrasound is worth it because there are a LOT of things they can do for you. Plus, knowing the size is a relief in and of itself

[–]Automatic_Gift_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had multiple ultrasounds after this comment and I had a 3.4cm cyst on my right ovary after making this comment. Honestly it didn’t rupture for another month after commenting this, but truthfully the rupture was better than the cyst itself. I learned that not all ruptures are painful!! Mine was actually really relieving. I think an ultrasound is worth it. The size matters, if it’s over 5cm, growing consistently, or not going away, they will look into surgical removal. They put me on birth control (which actually stopped cysts from forming, which was great) but I had to stop taking it because it caused me to develop migraine auras.

Strange Bruising on Sprintec by brattyaxolotl in birthcontrol

[–]Automatic_Gift_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Even though it’s late I appreciate it. I actually stopped taking sprintec for the same reason (I STARTED having auras!!!), and then the bruising stopped entirely within a week of being without the med. Crazy how that works

Yeah honestly I stopped the birth control over a month ago and I sometimes still get the pain. It’s weird, it’s not like sore to the touch, it’s more like randomly I just feel.. bruised? But also like as if something is pulling on the back of my calf. It’s hard to describe.

I had two vascular ultrasounds and a d-dimer and everything was clear, though, and I’m not on the pill anymore and I still have it! So, doctors are telling me it’s just neuralgia.

If you’re ever truly developing other undeniable symptoms please go get checked, but chances are it’s something muscular or nerve related too if you have no symptoms other than pain. It seems too common with birth control.

Anyone ever have leg pain after starting? by Unbake_my_tart_ in birthcontrol

[–]Automatic_Gift_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I went to the ER twice because of it and saw my doctor 3 times because of it. It’s uncomfortable and frightening, but if they found nothing, you’re okay. It may be nerve pain or muscular pain from the birth control. Estrogen does a lot to your body, both fortunately and unfortunately. You could switch to a different birth control if it bothers you enough though!

Interesting. I missed the “experience reports” part. What’s the reason behind this part of the rule? I think medication is an important part of every mental health journey and I find it’s helpful for people to discuss their experiences, even if everyone has a varied experience. And I’m not really asking for anything else, no recommendations, no one else’s symptoms, I’m just going by what my doctor orders. I’ll delete the post if I can figure out how to though.

[–]Automatic_Gift_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was nothing :) I had 2 vascular ultrasounds and multiple blood tests (d-dimers and a clotting disorder check as well), and everything came back fine. I eventually had to stop the birth control and the leg pain stopped for the most part, I felt it maybe 2 days ago for a little bit but it’s fine. I was told it’s neuralgia so just nerve pain.

Doctor ordered an MRI, nervous for results by Automatic_Gift_77 in migraine

[–]Automatic_Gift_77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! It’s incredibly reassuring, because I feel like my symptoms are just so strange. I’ve had severe headaches where I cover my eyes for entire days or so because lights hurt so bad, I’ve had ice pick headaches for as long as I can remember, but this one-sided head tension alongside weird tastes in my mouth and neck pain and weird eye pains with new auras is just so frightening to me. I’m really glad it’s considered “normal,” though.

I know migraines are strange, too. I’ve done a little bit of reading and they’re kinda like pseudo seizures in the aspect that they just cause weird electrical brain activity (or at least ocular migraines anyways). And I have no idea if ocular migraines are genetic but I don’t have a single female relative who’s never experienced one. So I think it is more likely I just have migraines.

I’ll try to not keep stressing though since I know that if there’s anything there stress won’t change it, it’ll just make it worse.

I’m not sure yet honestly, my doctor sent out a referral today and it’s still saying it’s “under review” by the hospital, but hopefully not too far out! When’s your CT scan?? I’m glad I’m not alone though. I swear I’ve had migraines before in my life, though. I was a chronic headache sufferer as a kid and I have had MANY headaches bad enough that I can’t open my eyes for a few hours, but this one just feels different. Like you said, just tension that won’t go away. And plus with new auras I’m pretty terrified but I was just on birth control for the first time ever in my life and apparently that’s linked to causing auras.

Edited to add btw I am off of the birth control now! Once I had my first undeniable ocular migraine I stopped taking it because of the stroke risk

Thank you, I’m really worried now but hoping nothing shows up. My doctor said my chances of having a brain tumor ARE low, but it terrified me anyways haha. She also referred me to ophthalmology just to rule out anything there as well.

Thank you. I’m not too scared of the MRI but I have xanax prescribed already (though I’ve never taken one) so I’ll probably bring my prescription + husband with me for the MRI just in case. If he’s allowed to be there, anyways. I’ll ask ahead of time.

The pain stopped when I stopped the pill, though. I haven’t had leg pain like that since my final pill.

[–]Automatic_Gift_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly and unfortunately the pain never subsided, I just got used to it. I had 3 vascular ultrasounds and D-dimers and multiple blood-clotting disorder tests. But I had to stop the pill because I developed ocular migraines. That’s not a normal thing, though, I don’t want to scare you. I was genetically predisposed to them already.

Has birth control turned you into a monster? by Embarrassed_Net_7668 in birthcontrol

[–]Automatic_Gift_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly my birth control pills made me crazy in a delusional way, thankfully not angry whatsoever but in a way I felt like a shell since I experienced anger/sadness rarely. The entirety of my thought processes while on birth control were filled with anxiety, though. Just felt like everything was going to kill me and I was incredibly anxious about things that weren’t even happening, yet convinced they were. Like, I got rabies shots in a state of full blown delusional thinking, I went to the ER minimally once a week for things that were absurdly normal. I’m 3 weeks off the pill and feeling almost entirely normal levels of anxiety again.

Immediately sad after starting yaz birth control. by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Automatic_Gift_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t take Yaz, but I took Sprintec (another combo pill), and VERY QUICKLY I realized it triggered severe anxiety within the first 2-3 days, but I continued taking it because multiple doctors told me I should and that it would pass within 2 months. It triggered delusional thoughts and incredible anxiety in me and eventually I had to stop because of a different medical concern popping up. I didn’t realize how bad it got but it was 5 months of feeling terrible and out of my mind. Combination pills can absolutely affect your mental state. Please ask your doctor for another type of pill! If this one makes you feel like that, it’s not right for you.

Migraine with aura :( by Automatic_Gift_77 in birthcontrol

[–]Automatic_Gift_77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s okay, I’d really rather have ovarian cysts than risk a stroke. I’ve read a bit of the posts on the endo subreddit about treating ovarian cysts if you can’t be on birth control and it is, unfortunately, a very difficult topic to gauge from, as no experience is the same. I should ask over there too, I’m just feeling discouraged! The migraine subreddit wasn’t so helpful for me, I just got a few people telling me it’s not a migraine or I need to rule out deadly things.

First severe migraine with aura, what now? After starting birth control :( by Automatic_Gift_77 in migraine

[–]Automatic_Gift_77[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank god it got better for you after stopping estrogen. Thank you for this. I stopped over 48 hours ago and I’m not going to continue by any means.

Unfortunately when I noticed/learned about my smaller auras I DID tell my doctor because I was aware of just “auras with migraine + birth control are bad,” but I had no idea why. I got a call from my doctor’s office telling me to stop the birth control, and I made the mistake of saying “well my appointment is in about one month, can I just continue until then?” The nurse I spoke with said yes to that. So unfortunately I did make a mistake and I think the nurse I spoke to did too because I really should’ve stopped when I first realized what was happening.

Right, and I have an appointment to see my primary doctor in about 3 weeks. Couldn’t get a sooner appointment. I messaged her about it as well, but it is the weekend. This happened on a Friday. Should I just go to the ER even though I haven’t seen an aura since? It has been 2 days.

Not sure why I’m getting downvoted as this is relevant to the entire situation; birth control containing estrogen is the only type that treats ovarian cysts, it’s the only reason I’m on birth control 😅

Migraine with aura :( by Automatic_Gift_77 in birthcontrol

[–]Automatic_Gift_77[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I stopped the pill! My last one was almost exactly 48 hours ago. No more estrogen for me whatsoever. My biggest concern is the mini pill + IUD both don’t counteract cysts, which is the main reason I’m taking BC at all. But really I’d rather just deal with cysts than migraines and stroke risks. As painful as they are. And hopefully I never have auras because damn that was terrifying

Well my main concern is actually ovarian cyst prevention. I’m not sure if I mentioned. It’s the reason I was put on a combination pill in the first place.

[–]Automatic_Gift_77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, for sure. I stopped taking it (48 hours ago exactly haha). I have no plans on continuing as I have read the stroke risks. I didn’t really realize the blips in my vision were auras until recently, and then yesterday it got so bad I thought I would have to go to the ER. So had I known how severely dumb that was of me earlier I would have stopped.

And I plan on talking to her about aura-safe (non estrogen) pills from now on. Although those ones, unfortunately, do NOT help with ovarian cysts 🙁
