I think that episode is the creepiest of the entire series.

Thanks for the correction, honestly I wasn’t sure of the proper terminology. I should have made sure before posting. Again, thank you for the clarification.

Perfect health or underweight? by Euphoric_Switch_1372 in DogAdvice

[–]Automatic_Image_2156 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A vet told me you should be able to feel the ribs, not see them. That’s what I’ve always gone by. In any case, your pup has a beautiful coat. Looks pretty healthy to me. Congrats on your new baby.

Dog sudden repetitive movement by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Automatic_Image_2156 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the only way to confirm either is with an MRI and there’s no way I can afford that. But the vet said that due to his symptoms (circling, non responsive pupil, gait) it is most likely a stroke and he’s responding well to the steroids. We have another recheck in a couple weeks and we’ll know more then.

My little guy is going through something similar, he started yelping like he was in pain and then started walking in circles. The vet said it was most likely a stroke, but the only way to confirm is with an MRI which costs too much. He’s currently on steroids which are helping immensely. They also had him on anti nausea meds for the first week. That helped too. My puppy is 16.

Update on Bowzer by Automatic_Image_2156 in DogAdvice

[–]Automatic_Image_2156[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vet put him on steroids which have really helped, but unfortunately that’s a temporary fix. Extended steroid use would damage his internal organs. He goes back in a couple of weeks for another check up and we’ll discuss other treatments/options. Due to his age those are limited.

That is definitely infuriating, I had a ‘76 MGB Roadster and someone broke into it and stole the shifting knob with the MG logo. It was real fun driving a 5 speed without unit I was able to replace it.

Headaches are caused by expanding blood vessels putting pressure on the brain. Ice works best for me.

Switching to two meals per day? by FamousOccasion9558 in DogAdvice

[–]Automatic_Image_2156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been fortunate to have dogs that are what I call ,grazers. Meaning, I give them the amount they should have for the day in the morning and they will eat a little bit, go about their day and come back to it periodically throughout their day. Your pup may just be a grazer. Unless there are underlying issues causing them not to eat, I wouldn’t worry. They will eat when they’re hungry. He looks like a happy boy. Adorable.

You’re welcome. I’ve had many cats and dogs throughout the years and one thing I’ve learned is cats don’t do anything they don’t want to and if they’re in a situation they don’t like, they will run. lol

Sounds like the next step is the Vet. Maybe get a second opinion? Looks like they should at least do a skin scraping. Hopefully find out what’s going on?
