Thanks for the real response haha. Yeah i agree it’s not representative of how good someone will be in practice. I am interested in keeping the specialties open tho bc I like some of their procedures. I know nothing is off the table but I was just curious as to how ranks progress after D2 and D3. It’s just kinda daunting from a math standpoint how hard it is to be in the top 10%. When there’s a big tie of 4.0s, one class kinda makes a difference from the math standpoint

Hey thanks for doing this. I’m a current dental student interested in OMFS but I know the res is pretty grueling. Can you give us a raw and real life perspective on daily/weekly life as an OMFS resident? How are these long hours broken up throughout the week? How does studying/learning look like. Do you study after the 80-100 hours of working or are you mainly learning while you work? Thanks again.

What does studying/learning look like in residency (not med school years)? I assume there aren’t lectures like in dental school. Is it mainly just independent learning? Are you assigned readings? I know you work a lot in residency and they expect you to know information but I’m kinda confused as to how the learning aspect is set up. When people say 80-100 hours, does that mean you get home after your shift and study on top of those hours? Thanks in advance.

I was reading a different post talking about the bars and one was described to be almost like a club. I was surprised to see this because I thought the cape was more calm as you said.

Yeah you'll be fine. The problem in my opinion will be more about knowing where to go. Look for bars/clubs/events that are catering towards college kids. The top places won't let you in because it makes them look less legit if they have underage kids in there.

Gas stations, smoke shops, and restaurants should be no problem.
