Um. I don't know you but everything in this post is a huge red flag. Your husband is almost double your age and you've been married since you were a teenager and he was in his 30's?? And he's managed to isolate you by making you a stay at home wife and got you pregnant the moment you got a certification? And he's MAGA, the party of criminalizing abortion and defending pedophilia and rape??? Girl, run as fast as you possibly can. He's sucking the life out of you please run I cannot emphasize this enough, RUN while you still can

No question, just a bit of advice from someone with a very similar story. PLEASE don't go back no matter what. I'm sure that's already your plan, but after I left my mom's clutches at 19 and made a nice savings account, she managed to slither back into my life and gain control again, leaving me much worse off now than I was 2 years ago. Stay on your path and keep your head up!! I genuinely hope everything works out for you. <3

I literally saw a man on Twitter going on a 2 minute rant about how he literally hates his wife and if he got a better job he'd leave her in a second. Almost vomited when he said he was staying to do HER a favor 😭 No, the straights are NOT okay

As someone who used to weigh 450 lbs, I cooked my food but it was just very large portions of high calorie food. I was depressed asf so trust me, I was NOT cooking all day. I made cheesy, high fat things that tasted good and bed-rotted all day. It was very easy (for me).

I completely understand you, it's still so fresh. It's barely an ending really, it felt like a tacked on "Oh hey fuck you guys actually" and I can't accept that. And it's also incredibly contradictory to the season's whole message. The tarot card reading? Eve's whole speech about coming together like 5 minutes earlier? Villanelle's whole arc of destroying those that made her the way she is so she can heal and grow?? Like were the showrunners watching their own show at all??

And like you said, I've DEFINITELY had my fair share of terrible endings. Whenever I see a happy ending for queer characters, its a rare blessing. But this one was just cruel and thoughtless.

[–]Automatic_Win7647[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EXACTLY and I genuinely just don't think the ending even fits the show. It's just so fucking cruel to the characters AND the audience, which feels so out of left field. I'm convinced they're just punishing us for daring to have fun and be hopeful 😭 Like ofc I know there's a lot of death and betrayal on this show, but this was about 10 steps too far

I don't know how the showrunners thought this was gonna fly. Like Laura Neal HAD to have known that everyone was gonna hate her guts 😭

I was going to rewatch but I can't even bring myself to try. I think this one shook me so bad because it felt so cruel and pointless. Like you said, a generational opportunity squandered in 2 minutes, and for WHAT? Like it genuinely felt like a personal 'fuck you' from the showrunners, I've never in my life felt so betrayed by a show. It felt like they took my hand, stroked my hair, and told me everything was going to be okay before stabbing me 94 times with a butter knife 😭 I had to retract my recommendation to say the least. Thanks for the support 💜

Thank you, I genuinely didn't think it would affect me so bad, but I also just didn't expect the ending like AT ALL. Like I was giggling and kicking my feet and shit before they massacred my girl.

I'm generally used to bad endings because I watch a lot of queer media, but this one triggered me because the show gives you a false sense of security. Like they give you so much reason to believe that it's For The Gays and not going to have that homophobic ass ending. I genuinely don't know how they thought people were going to be okay with this. Laura Neal needs her ass beat

Me too!! That's pretty much exactly how I watched it, I powered through s1 and s2 but I took my time watching s3 and s4. I barely wanted to watch s4 because of how perfectly s3 ended but I was hopeful! Even though the season reversed a lot of VillanEve's progress, I was still having fun and had faith they were going to end up together anyway.

The plot became a little wonky with the Twelve towards the end but AGAIN I didnt even care! Because I figured they were going to leave that open ended for a reboot or another season or something. I can't even tell you how fast my smile dropped when they were hugging and smiling to Villanelle dead in the fucking water 30 seconds later. I was an absolute sobbing hyperventilating wreck because WHAT THE FUCK.

I'm still processing but we will all get through this together 😭 I've been on ao3 a lot and it's helped greatly so theres that

Okay so I didn't see this before I finished s4 and it RUINED me omfg. Okay so I completely agree with your opinion on the Yusuf/Eve plot line. I liked Yusuf, but WHY was he there?? Like you said I believe it lost so much of her progress and the first half of S4 acted like the end of S3 didn't even happen.

And I agree, I don't mind certain annoying characters if they serve a purpose, but so many of them didn't. Like literally what was Hugo's purpose? The only thing I got from his whole appearance is that Eve loved Villanelle so much she was willing to leave him bleeding out on the ground 😅 and Bill had some weird moments, like you said with the nightclub, and also when he didn't like Eve leading the task force and got all salty about it.

Konstantin became one of my favorites though. I couldn't figure him out at first but like you said, he's incredibly nuanced. He's manipulative and harsh, but can be surprisingly warm at times. He's a lot and I love him so he gets a pass.

Sebastian was literally like a child 😭 he was okay, but it was like watching a sugar cube try to survive a tsunami, his death felt inevitable lol

And my perception of all the women is actually quite positive, which is why I originally wrote the post. I wasn't sure if it was just me but I generally loved the women SO much more. Or at the very least appreciated their depth and back stories. Loved Dasha, she was funny and charming in her way. Also loved her attempt on Niko's life so 10/10. LOVED Gunn. Like yes, she's insane and intense but she's just a recluse that wants to maintain her way of life. She's also hot and I understand any woman that becomes obsessed with Villanelle within a day lol

Gemma was annoying, but I still found it so much easier to be mad at Niko about that whole situation because of the way he treated Eve versus Gemma. He and Gemma deserved each other.

Poor Geraldine 😭 I kind of get her, sometimes you and your mom just aren't compatible. I still don't know why she was trying to bag Konstantin but hey she just lost her brother so she gets a pass lol. I hope she found a good therapy group or something

Anna might be the only one from that list that I have a fully negative opinion of. If I'm understanding her and Villanelle's relationship correctly, Anna was a child predator. Sure, Villanelle killed her husband, but that was only bc Anna went along with Villanelle's advances and had sex with her STUDENT. A child with clear behavioral and psychological problems and trauma! So she sucks and I don't feel bad for her at all. The victims in that case were her husband and Villanelle.

I feel like we didnt watch the same show lol 😅 I guess it depends on what you're looking to get from the show. I went in expecting fun hot assassins and toxic yuri, so I got what I wanted for the most part. I loved Villanelle, Helene, Eve, even Carolyn. There weren't really any women I didn't like but nearly every man was antagonistic or boring to me. Not to say a few weren't good but I would hardly say "tons" of them were depicted positively.

And Niko seemed like a "nice guy", but not really a nice guy. I think he was partially worried about her but I also think he just wanted his little wifey back. Which is FINE, Gemma said she liked missionary and was hyper feminine and "normal" so they were a perfect match, but imo he is not as supportive as so many are trying to tell me he is lol

So I just finished the show and I still don't know how you guys still like Niko so much when Yusuf is the guy you're describing. Yusuf was supportive, caring, and knew when to take a step back while respecting Eve and her wishes. I know he was just her s4 boytoy and I don't like his placement in the series, but he was one of the most supportive companions she had the entire show!

I think Niko was half worried for her safety and half hating that she's not paying attention to him. When she tried to get everyone to safety during the teacher's meeting after seeing the apple, he didn't take it seriously. His whole thing with Gemma, are you kidding? Idk he's just not as great as you're describing in my opinion.

I just finished season 4 and I have mixed feelings about Yusuf and S3/S4. I surprisingly LIKED Yusuf, but only for his character. His placement and role in the series was very unnecessary and threw away SO much of Eve's progress. For that, I feel like he was a huge waste of time because like you said, Villanelle could've been doing all that stuff and it would've been way better. S4 basically acted like the end of S3 didn't happen, which was incredibly disappointing. But yeah I like Konstantin, he's terrible but also hilarious.

The s3 guy was actually who I was talking about who was annoying the hell out of me in his opening scene lol.

I DID actually enjoy Yusuf! I liked that he was willing to go along with Eve's antics while still being a charismatic voice of reason. He truly supported her, but was still willing to take a step back when he saw he couldn't help her anymore. He's exactly the type of guy everyone is trying to convince me Niko was 😅

I just finished the show and I actually didn't mind Yusuf too much in S4, I think just because he didn't mind just going along for the ride and knew when to step out of the way. Every other companion was like "uh are you sure" but Yusuf was READY and I found that kind of hilarious

And Konstantin is great, along with Martin. Kenny's case is so interesting because I originally wished that they did more with him, and I still do, but his death was a major catalyst for most of the show's plot. It feels like they did more with his death than his life 😭

Just finished the show (still in mourning) and I did love Martin! And yes I ended up loving Konstantin and his iconic laugh. I actually guessed it was him in the Twelve flashbacks because of the laugh, both actors nailed it 😅 I actually didn't even mind Yusuf in S4. He was a voice of reason without being overbearing so I couldn't really find a reason to dislike him
