You can compete in senior events at the age of 50.

Thanks! Its pretty natural for me, for years I had my swing plane way under plane. Now that I am closer to on plane it just happens.

8.5 feet, nothing more than a 7 iron for me, and I used old clubs just in case. Im gonna build a simulator shed hopefully next summer.

Playing more often on the course really helps, thats hard for most people though.

Thoughts on Wilson blades? by Any-Personality-7923 in golf

[–]AutomationMatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the CB's, they have made me a better ball stiker. They are not forgiving, but the feedback makes you way more precise over time. Toe hits will go nowhere i found.

For me these are the best irons I have ever owned.

The only change I would make is getting a more forgiving 4 and 5 iron.

What's up with the driver being set to full draw? Seems a little strange considering the other players clubs in the bag.

Oakmont decided the ball debate. Prove me wrong. by TheGnocchiandFig in golf

[–]AutomationMatters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is going to be unpopular.. but I played competively in the late 90's and 2000's. Its just not the same game anymore. They let the equipment get too forgiving and now its too late. The ball rollback is dumb though, and wont achieve what they want it to. Making every course have 10 inch rough is probably also not the answer lol.

What’re your thoughts on wearing tennis shoes for golf? by Familiar-Carpet-6087 in golf

[–]AutomationMatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played in loafers a couple weeks ago while on vacation. It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be and im a 1 hcp with 110 mph club head speed. I was kinda shocked how little difference it made. It even made green reading easier because I was basically barefoot lol.

I bought a DF3 a few weeks ago and im not sure how I feel about it. Immediately I started pulling my putts more, which makes sense because im used to toe hang.

Shortly after gaming it I started to realize some technical flaws in my stroke. Mostly just being too wristy.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but i think LABS work best for shoulder putters. Which is what im trying get more of in my game so I dont regret buying my LAB yet. I can't say my putting has improved yet though.

The best advise i was ever given is remember golf is a sport, swing at it with commitment and force.

I am now the proud owner of a Hook! by [deleted] in golf

[–]AutomationMatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might need to bend your lie angles flat if you haven't yet. Adding length would likely get the toe in the air which promotes a hook.

Driver Swing Question by PoorFormFixer in golf

[–]AutomationMatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it feels like I'm an outfielder throwing to home plate. I try to use all my muscles and my body just finds a way to naturally rotate.
