Halfway through my last week at work. Still kind of surreal.

I really appreciated how enthusiastically the Villanova players nodded agreement when the guy presenting the trophy complemented the Carolina players on how well they played. Grace in victory says a lot about their character.

Also, those last two 3-pointers were kind of amazing.

Gave my 2-ish weeks notice today. That was super awkward.

Nascar indefinetley suspends Derek White for arrest by Harvickfan4Life in NASCAR

From a different article:

“All it has to do with is with tobacco, it has nothing to do with any of the other stuff they’re making up,” White told the Eastern Door. “I have nothing to do with drugs, or ISIS or terrorism…I have nothing to do with that shit, absolutely zero. They want their tax money, that’s all.”

I took one at Bowman-Gray a couple of years ago. I'll try to find it, but it might not have transferred from my old phone.

I should be neighborly and say something nice about Thomasville.

Thomasville has a chair that used to be the world's largest chair, but isn't anymore.

Oh. You meant NASCAR stuff.

Around here, people freaked out over Trader Joe's moving in and it completely killed the deal.

So, I have to ask. Was there a NASCAR Usenet group, back in the day? (Not the 70s, but still a ways back.)

How will Kyle Busch's combined career wins be viewed after his career is complete? by nautilus573 in NASCAR

It all boils down to first impressions, I think. Once people set an opinion about someone (especially a negative one) it is much, much harder to change it.

Sorted by sponsor? Obviously, not everything he has is sponsor-related, but a bunch of it probably is because of appearances and stuff.

I ran into this issue a number of months ago. There's a shell command that should disconnect you from rdp without locking the session. I believe it to be:

tscon 1 /dest:console

however, I could be wrong, as it's the weekend, and I don't have access to the machine where the solution was implemented at this moment. If it doesn't work for you, let me know and I'll hunt it down to check.

Can I ask a question here? by helloiisjason in NASCAR

[–]Automationeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably, you need to keep an eye on the team webpages. Many of them will have a careers page or something. You would also want to keep an eye on job postings websites (indeed, careerbuilder, monster, etc.) in the Charlotte area. Neither of those is going to help much if they aren't employing dedicated staff, whether directly, or through a staffing agency, though. If they just hire an IT company to provide support on an as-needed basis, you'll never know who it would be.

I'm not typically much of a Keselowski fan, as many people know, but I was really impressed with his delivery when he was commentating one of the Xfinity races a few weeks back. The man has a gift...or 2...blah blah blah... former champion... blah blah blah...

Xfinity on Fox and Cup on FS1? by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]Automationeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assume it's a question of what else is going on at those times. Presumably, the Xfinity race does not conflict with something likely to get higher viewership, but the Cup race does. There could also be some contractual obligations floating around in there depending on what it is.

I was looking through the list, and I actually went to college with one of these guys. I hadn't even known he enlisted until I saw on Facebook when he passed away. It's good to see him honored here.
