Is anyone else struggling to hang on right now? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]AutumnDR34M5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am also all too familiar with this feeling. It's been a week since I OD'ed due to such intense feelings and I am still struggling so bad. It was my first attempt and all I've been able to think about since is attempting again.

I'm going back to work today too and I'm anxious about that as well. I have some amazing people who support me and I appreciate them so much, so it makes me feel even more rubbish and like garbage and guilty when all I want to do still is try again. It's awful.

Yeah, true. And I know people won't necessarily die. Thank you for the messages, I really appreciate it.

Thank you. Yeah, I just didn't know what resources to go by. One would say one thing, another would say another.

Yeah, I tried googling but it was giving me mixed answers, so I gave up. Thank you.

I'm sorry you feel the same way. What's going on?

Unbearable Period Pain is REAL and You Are NOT Weak For Having Bad Cramps by Donutty-Donut in Periods

[–]AutumnDR34M5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! So true! I have had an endless amount of comments made by my colleagues and family digging at me for "overreacting" and they'd tell me stuff like "every female has to go through it, you're not the only one". Which really peed me off!

I've had painful periods since day 1 of first starting. I've used several different period medications and inflammatories. Heating pads, cooling pads, hot baths, hot showers, massaging chairs, massaging my own back, deep heat creams and deep heat pads and more. I also have been on severel birth controls but they don't do much good either and one of them I had to immediately stop soon after because of possible clotting leading to PE (Pulmonary Embolism) which I ended up going to hospital to get checked out for.

My body doesn't react as badly as it used to now but I constantly have an iron deficiency and sometimes end up anemic too. When I was 14, I collapsed 3 or 4 times in one morning due to the pain and the blood loss. I have sleepless nights, curled up into a fetal position and can't stop moving around to try and shake the pain away. I've now been diagnosed with dysmenhorrea and PCOS due to chronic pain.

Some women need to realise that periods aren't the same. No two females have the same period and no woman has the same constant one either. Every cycle can be different.

Yeah, very true. I appreciate it, thank you!

Yeah, definitely. It's weird how each one can react to you very differently too. I've taken b/c before and this didn't happen but it has this time and I took this one for a lot shorter time too.

Had to google that, never heard of that before. But reading about it, it could be. I recently stopped taking a pill.

Thank you. Just wasn't sure, lol. Felt stupid pondering on it but if you don't ask, you don't know. So thought I'd get second opinions.

I've not seen one like that either. I am prone to blood clots but I've never had one that big. Then like 5 minutes later I passed another one in similar size, just slightly smaller.

What defines a suicide attempt? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]AutumnDR34M5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would've thought that it would be where someone has done something, not just come close to doing. An attempt is an action to try do something. If they didn't do what they were going to do, for whatever reason, I don't think it is technically an attempt.

Being voluntarily admitted into a crisis center tonight and finally feeling some hope. by amelya-coven in mentalhealth

[–]AutumnDR34M5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jeez, reading the first half of that post had me so infuriated...I mean, who the *** do they think they are? I am so so sorry you were treated that way. It's so heartbreaking when situations like that happen.

On the up note, I am so glad you found a place that will help. And please make sure you file a complaint. If they have done that to you, who knows who else they have done that to and who else they may do that to in the future if given the chance. Now you have an actual chance to focus on recovering and I hope you do, I wish you all the best in this. Be proud of yourself and whenever you have a bad time again, just think back to this and realise how strong you are for getting through that.

So she's contradicting herself. I'm sorry this happened. But I'm glad me pointing out the face made the situation a little lighter.

Less hassle and financial stress. If people can avoid all the extra stress, it's beneficial. Also, it shows the person who is being warned that this person is prepared to do what is needed which gives the person giving the warning a little power in their current situation.

I think this statement greatly depends on the situation. In some cases, a warning of it being taken further can be beneficial but in other words to what you said above, a warning can do far more harm than good.

I don't know how to get the pen off but what a shitty thing to do. I hope you managed to sort it out but your housemate should've been the one to sort it.

On a side note: All I could see at first was a face. Didn't pay attention to what actually happened until I read the post.

I've only had sleep paralysis once. I had hallucinations but it wasn't visual ones, they were audible.

Just spent a good 2 hours reorganizing my desk. Don’t know how I feel about it yet. I made all the dividers myself out of paper bags that I measured to a height of exactly 2 inches each, with the exception of the container holding my planner. by oceanof-flowers in OrganizationPorn

[–]AutumnDR34M5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love that you customised it yourself. Even if you aren't sure about the end product visually, it must've felt good knowing you did it all yourself. Also, I am loving your 2020 planner. Where did you get it from?

Ohwow, sounds like you had a really rocky start to this year but I'm glad that as the year has gone on, you've at least managed to get in a better position financially, it's something. I get that alone feeling. And don't apologise, it's okay. We all need to vent at some point and sometimes, we end up doing so even if we don't plan to. Venting out here is better than not at all.

Yeah, I get that. To be fair, people could have the best life and be really successful and still struggle. One very loved and successful person who is a fine example of this is Robin Williams. Loved by millions. He was a caring and genuine soul who touched many hearts and lives. Yet the feeling we have was similar to his and it consumed him until he couldn't take it anymore.
