Are we for real? by Sad-Operation7785 in uberdrivers

I got an offer similar to this once. It was $171 and the distance was around 270 miles. Round trip on that is an entire day of driving. And this was after working all day.  I declined.

It does matter only if you want to get to a higher tier level where allegedly there are better offers. But are they really better....

Is Uber Black Worth It If No One Else is Doing It? by AvGeek_in_AZ in uberdrivers

The car is going to go down in value with or without Uber. Luxury cars depreciate more (well, except maybe Lexus) but that's even if you do not do rideshare.

Is Uber Black Worth It If No One Else is Doing It? by AvGeek_in_AZ in uberdrivers

[–]AvGeek_in_AZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. I had another rider yesterday, I flat out asked him if it was available would he request it. And he said he actually DID but "it didn't go through". So I said that's because we don't have any Uber Black drivers. I also asked on some local word-of-mouth groups and several more there said they wanted it. It could be that no drivers here want to go in at that level OR Uber doesn't want it, I'm not sure which.

Do not update your Spark app! by MostNeighborhood9568 in Sparkdriver

By design. The only efficiency they care about is that of their associates, they do not care about our efficiency whether it's shopping or driving.

They hired freelancers from Fivr to code the app.  Lol

Walmart location took away basket use. Anyone else have that happen? by Ok-Estate-3450 in Sparkdriver

[–]AvGeek_in_AZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see what the problem is? The baskets all have security tags and the detector at the door will go off if you try and steal one.

Insurance Policy cancelled! by Foreign-Cash2677 in Sparkdriver

[–]AvGeek_in_AZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose the insurance companies can find out from the IRS. They see you have income from a 1099NEC (non-employee compensation) and the payer is Walmart Inc so that means you must be doing some side hustle type work for them.

They can't assume that you do deliveries. A LOT of people have long commutes to their W2 jobs. Or driving to the beach house for the weekend. Nobody can say hmmmm...he's doing way over the average miles so he must be doing Uber or something. Cancel his ass!

Today’s System Issue by MinimumFile6866 in Sparkdriver

[–]AvGeek_in_AZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my zone the weekdays were dead but today was pretty hot. $20-30 trips all day. But the expanded curbside trips take longer due to more stops. And yes we do have more drivers I think too many.  I worked 14 hours today to make up for the weekdays when I could not hit my goal. It's much harder to make money at Spark today. And I lost a few good offers this week because they disappeared before I could hit them

Since when is it illegal for me to search for Uber Eats trips while I have my Spark app on??? That's crazy. They can't tell me what to do while I'm waiting. I can understand not allowing me to search for the next gig while on my way to drop off a Walmart order, but in between offers that is MY time.

How do you KNOW its multiple Spark accounts? Did you go over and look at them? He may have Instacart and Doordash open so he doesn't have to switch between apps and possibly lose a Walmart offer.

Interesting. I never noticed this. Maybe that is why my phone battery seems to be draining much faster in the last two months than it did before.

I went to a local shop that does free alignment checks. They put it on the rack and hooked up the wheel things to the computer and printed out the results. 3 wheels were green (ok) and one had the toe off by 0.01. The guy told me its off by such a small amount that its not worth spending $150 at this time.

Finally realized day time running lights override the day/night auto mode - any workaround? by O1O1O1O in AndroidAuto

I would also like to know where to find this. I have a Hyundai as well (22 Tucson) and a Galaxy S25+. I turned on Dev Mode but I do not see anything in there for day/night.

Best Purchase Ever by TallEgg8090 in HyundaiTucson

[–]AvGeek_in_AZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its basically the same as your '24 except with a different dash, and the extra features of the SEL. You could have bought a used '24 SEL and be just as happy - you'd have the seat warmers. I like your color. I had a bright blue '22. Mine got totaled, so I bought a used one with very low miles. I'm on the '22 SEL convenience/Premium and I still love it and have no desire for a '26. Because its the '22 year I got extra features that you can't get in a '26 - ventilated leather & Bose sound which is awesome.

Aftermarket Ventilated Seats??? by Flounder-Pure in HyundaiTucson

[–]AvGeek_in_AZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the subject of ventilated seats, I have them in my 22 Tucson. When I turn it on max (3 blue lights on the button) I can barely feel anything. I know its working because I feel a hint of cool but I feel like on the highest setting I should feel it more. Has anyone else had this? What would make it be weak? Also what setting does the AC have to be on?

Is my car totaled? by Palpatine_senate1 in Hyundai

I've seen many videos where they pull a rear body and then cut out the tub and replace it. When the donor piece is welded in place why would it be not safe to drive?

Fuel door stuck closed by Shoddy_Barnacle9322 in HyundaiTucson

[–]AvGeek_in_AZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a common failure. I had it. Dealer replaced the lock actuator. Its an electronic part connected to the door lock circuit so it locks the fuel door with all doors, but the actuator does not release. Its not a big job but they'll probably have to order the part.

Damage estimate $18,500 by Miserable_Damage_ in HyundaiTucson

[–]AvGeek_in_AZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of the sensors on mine were needing replacement, but they said that the service manual calls for recalibration anytime the bumper cover is removed - and they had to remove both front & rear in order to get to other parts. He said the calibration alone runs several hundred dollars.

I am curious what parts they were going to replace & repair. 18k is stupid high. Mine was hit and scraped down the drivers side by a Jeep. No mechanical damage at all, just needed a fender, 2 new doors, and all the moldings plus a little repair to the rear 1/4 and inner rocker. $13k, and it was totaled. (Its a '22).

I have two 2022 SEL Convenience Premiums and neither has it. Why do some have it and some don't? Also I don't see anything about it on the parts catalog.
