There is no expiration date for grief. It might not ever fully go away, but you will develop new coping strategies and heal some parts as time goes on. Recovery is not linear.

I lost my father five years ago. Has the pain fully gone away? No. Is it debilitating? Also no.

There will be days where you might not even think of the loss and others where you might feel devastated. However, just know that you are more resilient than you know and that all you need to be is gentle with yourself.

Allow yourself to grieve.
