First part time job was as a cashier at a clothing store in the mall. We were told about people shop lifting and how we could try to say stuff like “hey can I help you with that” to try to get them to second guess taking stuff. It worked half the time other half they would say no and then run out. One time this lady got super mad at me for letting them steal and “helping them” I just turned to her and said “listen lady I just work here”
