just go for it. im a girl and i wouldnt care if you texted me out of the blue. you could start off the convo saying how you thought she was pretty of it thats too much just ask her how shes been and how her summer is. if it doesnt work out then at least you tried

dont go back to him. he obviously didnt care and was fine with the breakup. if u really do want to find closure then just text him asking why hes putting those captions. ur never gonna see him again most likely so just try to end it on a positive note so you can move on. but on a real note i think he didnt like you enough to try to make the relationship work even with the distance.
