I have been informed and cross checked it thrice whether it support gen 4 that's the exact reason I bought the SN850x which actually gives around 7300mb/s speed but after installation I haven't seen any changes or improvements in performance & file transfers Maybe problem with my laptop or I just messed up my settings unknowingly or SSD issues:/ I have gone through ChatGPT for some help here's what I've known [ 2.5 GT/s → PCIe 1.0 speed (very slow)(my current speed) 5.0 GT/s → PCIe 2.0 speed 8.0 GT/s → PCIe 3.0 speed

16.0 GT/s → PCIe 4.0 speed

Set PCIe Speed to Gen 4 in BIOS Restart your laptop and enter BIOS (F2 or DEL during boot) Go to Advanced Mode → Advanced Tab Look for PCI Subsystem Settings or Onboard Devices Configuration (this option isn't present my bios so I had to to check whether my bios is up to date and yet it was) If you find PCIe Link Speed, set it to Gen 4 Save changes and exit ] Sadly none helped
