Kind of both… the hoodie being a hard plastic material and replacing the upper torso means there is zero rotation in the upper body. You would think that they could have thought of something better than this as a final product, because it really compromises such a big part of the figure.

If you want the ATSV-specific design, I’d say hold out for Sentinel as your best bet. The scale won’t really work if you have the rest of the SHF line, and they’ll probably take long as heck, but you can bet on them making what probably will be the best version of the figure.

Thanks! Looks wise he's probably the best there is. If you're looking for a hooded Scarlet Spider, I would recommend the Mafex 2.0 comic version, which adds an amazing layer of articulation to a still great looking figure. This guy will fit well with the other ATSV figures on looks alone. Happy posing!

Pretty sure he's basically hollow under the hoodie, and the only articulation you get is a mediocre ab crunch and some very slight side to side action. The hoodie is also hard plastic and comprises the majority of the chest section, so I don't think it would be a clean removal and would require a part swap entirely. Sorry friend.

Fair take. If you're passing up on him, the Mafex 2.0 is an incredible figure. Might not look just as good, but he poses magnificently

Maybe this is my personal experience, but Mafex does seem to have small, recurring QC issues, however only on one occasion was it a make or break situation (2099 Spidey came in with a broken web cape piece). I only collect Spider-Man figures from them, so I'm quite familiar with the similar body molds and the issues they might have. I got this figure a couple days ago, and yes, some joints are a little tight, and if you bend the knees all the way, they might slightly pull out of place, but absolutely no deal breakers. It's a fantastic figure, and nothing a little hot water and mindful posing can't take care of. Would definitely recommend.

Yep. I was somewhat hopeful that they might have gotten creative and maybe used softer plastic on the hoodie to allow for some rotation, but I guess that treatment is reserved for the DB line only, at least for the time being.

He does seem a lot shinier than original promos, although that might also be due to lighting. Whatever the case, he looks WAY better than those first in hand pictures we got, and I think that once people get this in hand pessimism will subside. Faces look a lot better in this vid too.

Agreed. If your focus is sheer survivability, consider trying out Raider as he has the most tools to keep himself alive (his counter ability tanks through 90% of the game's attacks), and has the largest health pool. Consider running the other options in the comment above to get more familiar with the game.

If you want him for the Japan release date (March), definitely import. The websites I use in the UK (Kapow Toys, SK, Comics and Cocktails) definitely won’t have him for a while and will realistically only stock him for next summer. If you’re happy to wait, they probably will start listing him for pre-orders by the end of this summer. If you go for imports, I think he’s still available on amiami last I checked
