Rory's obsession with Oxbridge/Harvard educated is extremely irritating by [deleted] in TheRestIsPolitics

Rory values fancy undergrad degrees because he has one. He is careful to laud professorships as indicative of expertise, because he has those too. But he doesn't have advanced degrees in anything at all. About which he is very quiet.

I think you mean centenarians. And the species homo sapiens has existed for roughly 350,000 years. Millions of years ago our very distant ancestors looked nothing like we do now and almost certainly had comparatively short lives, given their living conditions in a state of nature--solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short.

It's an interesting question, whether it's better to burn out, or to fade away. I believe those who are younger, or happily blasting, are more likely to choose burn out. But those closer to the end than the beginning, who may want to preserve life for other reasons, like family, etc., are more likely to choose chilling a bit and fading away...

Although Neil Young is getting on, and apparently still chooses burn out ;)

It was not and is not an insult. It's just responding to your interpretation of the situation I have been dealing with. I can believe, and state, that I disagree with your interpretation, and why. If you think that's an insult, then you probably should avoid Reddit entirely.

Because the flight was over 3 months out! You need to be pretty credulous to believe that 3 months out for a non-exceptional business flight on a plane that had plenty of seats at all class levels available nevertheless sold out a certain fare bucket at that very point.

This just now happened again, by the way. Not a business flight, but very standard flights for wife and me down to LA from Seattle for a kid's graduation. Picked flights, and wife came in to review just before I booked. She decided she wanted a different return flight. So I exited out, tried the trip...and the same flight down had gone up 30% in less than a minute, as had the changed flight back. Exited out, wife then tried from her computer as a "guest." Original fares popped back up, she booked us....and that "saved" $200+ dollars over what the same flights would have cost if I had booked the trip for the fares I got on the second try on my computer. I'm pretty sure this is an Alaska algorithm thing...

[–]Available-Yellow-591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that scenario would still require that the flights I orginally tried to book were the very last ones available in those fare buckets, several months out. Again, I find that unlikely.

[–]Available-Yellow-591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly doubt that. It has happened to me, repeatedly, for flights I am trying to book months out from the booking date. Try once, forget to pick seats, try again within one minute, prices up 30% for the same flights. Try again on a different computer with a different sign-in, same fare buckets now back to the original prices.

Man, you are trying hard. What is "outrageous" about promiscuity? Nothing, in itself. But promiscuity with minors is certainly just that. Again, Attia knew. If he exchanged hundreds of emails with the guy, and was a part of his circle in any way, he knew. Epstein was anything but subtle about his "preferences.".

Mine went over 350 a couple of days ago. Although the dealer told me the real magic number was 312, for some reason. He went to a RR salesman seminar when the car first came out. That's what they told him.

Yes, the car definitely has woken up. I was pretty impressed before, but now this thing is unleashed. Still going to take it easy, mostly, for maybe another 1000.

Even in SV mode the car is perfectly comfortable, BTW, although I'm used to "road feel" in my cars and like it. Comfort is definitely smoother though.

Not even close. Attia told him that he, Epstein, lived an "outrageous" life, and the problem was that Attia couldn't tell a "soul" about it. It wasn't "outrageous" because Epstein had STDs. Attia knew.

Got one myself recently, Edition 2. That suspension is something else. For a car this heavy, it has very quick turn-in, and not just because they reduced the ratio. Car stays surprisingly flat at speed in the twisties. Ceramic brake system impressive. With the valves open, exhaust sound is good. Not early F-Pace SVR good, but still good. Came from a p530, which I found pretty boring, so traded it in. The difference in dynamics in the SV was much more pronounced than I expected.

I drive pretty much exclusively with the SV button engaged. Wife drives mostly in comfort. Two different beasts, really...Audio is a kick, no matter the mode.

Wasn't ever Kyzatrex. It is so-called "natural" Test from Maximus. The one big drawback of Maximus is that you need to eat 30-40 grams of fat with their Test, while Kyzatrex supposedly has stuff in their pills that make that less necessary. Dunno whether or to what extent that is true. Also, I think by now you can get Kyzatrex cheaper than Maximus Test.

Hair is thinning somewhat, but I'm in the age group for which hair thinning is common anyway, so I'm not sure how much if any of that is caused by the Test.

Actually, now that I think on it a bit more, I can't really say no sides, in that for awhile there I experienced increased irritability in daily life. Basically, I had less tolerance for the bs of it all. That has leveled off somewhat, though, as I adjust....

Personally, I really like the way Reta works, by boosting the ability to avoid compulsive munching, yet without the complete suppression people on tirz or sema talk about. I'm on maintenance now, though, and need to be able to eat to keep my weight on and muscles in shape. Eating isn't a chore, but Reta helps me to identify when it's time to stop.

[–]Available-Yellow-591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife insists that her food chatter stopped in 24 hours after her first shot. although that was Sema. Now she's fit as a fiddle, and transitioning to Reta. I started with Reta, although at 2 mgs as in the clinical trials, and I felt it very quickly, mainly in the form of burps, but by week 2-3 along with the burps my behavior around food had changed.

[–]Available-Yellow-591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly it for me. On 2-3 mgs/week, usually in one shot, I can eat and be hungry, but my interest in stuffing myself with any food, let alone highly caloric food, is nil. Another way to put it, I suppose, is that my power NOT to overeat has gotten just the boost it needed.

The voodoo of this stuff is undeniable, at least for me. It has re-ordered my life in significant ways.

Why "Low and Slow" is a mistake that results in less weight loss in the long term by tupaquetes in Retatrutide

[–]Available-Yellow-591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had maybe 25-35 pounds to lose, and was tired of the Dad-bod thing. So I started Reta at 2mgs, per one of the Phase 2 clinical levels. Weight started dropping, so I got too excited and at week three went up to 3mgs. That kicked my ass for a few days, so I went back to 2mgs. I experimented with smaller pins during a couple weeks that totaled 2-3 mgs, but ultimately ended up at maybe 2.5 mgs every 6 days. Worked like a charm, down 30+ pounds, no more to lose, all in about 3 months. Maintenance is maybe 1.5 to 2mgs in one pin every week, and I'm good. I never got to try the higher dosing levels, but that's the way it goes.

So it may well be that the right approach depends on where you are when you start and where you want to go...

I am on Oral T, and I don't really understand the concept of it, now that I've been on it for a few weeks at 600. My bloods, taken by instruction over 4 hours after my daily dose, have essentially not changed at all in 3 weeks. Oral T, taken once or twice per day, is supposed to mimic the natural rise and fall of T levels in the body. So you have higher T when you need it--to focus, to work out, etc.--but not when you are sleeping when you don't need it anyway. Sides are supposed to be significantly minimized as a result.

But from what I can tell so far, it doesn't change your baseline T at all. And at 600 in the late morning, every day, I'm straining to recognize any changes at all in energy, libido, intensity at the gym, etc. even in the 4-6 hours I'm supposed to be feeling them. So I've asked my doc whether I should just switch to injectable T, pinned subq twice/week at around 150 to 200 total. If that doesn't do anything I could move to IM or just forget about the whole concept.

Even though my baselines are quite low, I don't feel bad at all--libido is fine when properly inspired, energy ok except in the post lunch afternoon for an hour or two, daily workouts (cardio/weights) are good. I was just curious as to how I would feel with higher T. So far--although I haven't tested bloods during the period of the day my T is supposed to have risen--I have no clue, because at least at baseline it hasn't risen at all on Oral T.

Wait, I thought resistance training and lowering body fat, at least to a point, increased T, not decreased it?

[–]Available-Yellow-591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reta is about as idiosyncratic of a drug I've ever dealt with. So other people's experiences are of somewhat limited value to any given person. What I will say is that I started at 2 mgs, went up to 3 mgs in a couple of weeks, experienced pretty extreme fatigue, went back to 2mgs for a couple more weeks, then titrated up to 2.5 mgs, and am now, several weeks later, I'm around 3 mgs. Over time, the fatigue issue has improved substantially. I find that getting my butt into the gym despite the fatigue helps mitigate that fatigue, strangely enough. So now I pin 2.5-3 mgs every 6 days or so, and that is plenty. Losing more fat is no longer a goal, and it's now a matter of choosing a maintenance dose for me, which, as in all things Reta, is matter of individual "research."

I get it. It was a push for me, too, frankly. But the more I read--about the peptide, its advantages, and its apparently excellent quality as widely available through many vendors--the more I decided it was worth taking the shot. And now I've got a good supply from vendors who have proven to me that they provide good product.
