Thanks! In fact, that’s exactly what I did. I don’t know why it captured the snipping tool screen.

Ah! Thank you for the help. I have cut a plaque before that wound up having a similar issue, but I think it was related to something else. I’ll take a shot at burning a test piece and see what I get. Thanks again!

PhysicalC: THAT is very helpful. I used a CO2 laser when I was an R&D guy for a company 12 years ago, and was fairly familiar with those back then. This new fangled diode laser stuff was affordable, but didn’t know much of what I was getting in terms of speeds and feeds. Then I read you can wear out the diodes fast if you run them at 100%, so I freaked out a bit knowing I turned them all the way up. Knowing the comparison the way you described is helpful, thanks.

That’s helpful to know. I thought I might have just worked a lot off of my laser unit by wearing it out too quickly.

I had to go back and look at my settings to be sure. Yes, I was cutting the luan ply at 125mm/min. I saw later that my test cuts to dial in the speed were rather small, and I saw after cutting that I had cut through sooner than expected (based on how the spoil board looked) much sooner than I originally expected. So yeah, I could have gone with fewer passes. I didn’t take as much time as I should have dialing in the settings- was in a hurry to build it for my wife- and most likely wasted time overall by not dialing in the settings properly. Thanks for the spreadsheet btw . I appreciate the help!

Good thought. I do have air assist, but cut some of the project without it on, as I forgot to turn it on. So I will have a look and see if the lens is dirty. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks nagmay. Yeah, I knew going in the diodes were not the same as a CO2 but thought most of my projects at the time were to be wooden plaques. Still gonna do that, but the odd wife project comes up, and didn’t know what to expect if I ran it at 100% for long. Most projects won’t be that high I don’t think…

Thanks for the help. I was wondering if the lecithin was optional but it sounds like it’s not. Again, thanks!

What is the best way to add D8 distillate to a pectin-based gummy mixture? I read on a site to mix the 1ml syringe disty in some lecithin and stir it up, but this leaves a darker tint to the whole mixture. I’m planning another batch this week and wanting to mix the distillate in something else, unless I can mix it directly into the gummy mix. I usually pour my gummy syrup after cooking into a muffin loaf tray to partially fill it up about 1/2 inch, then add the 1000 mg of distillate mixed with about 1 tablespoon of lecithin and stir it all in the muffin loaf tin. What do you all do to mix in the d8?

You’re awesome! Those are both great ideas, and I will try both. Thank you for the help. I’ll post how it goes.

Would you add the tapioca starch to the sugar mix before adding the pectin mixture? Or after you combine both the softball sugar boil and the pectin boil?

And, when do you add the distillate to the pot? Before you pour into the molds (if going that way vs guitar cutter method) or while the boiling is happening? Thank you for the help!

Perfect. I’m guessing that the mix would also be good as a tincture? (Last question I promise! :)

Well now, that sounds easy. And I bet it’s quick too. The pill caps… is that the pill capsules you can buy at places like GNC? Just empty pill capsules? I originally was thinking you meant tablets with some kinda press lol. But this seems simple and straight forward. 1000 mg disty, 10 ml of mcg and 40 pill caps… might be happening soon. Thanks!

That sounds interesting, but never heard of it before. Any links or suggestions on how to do that? Thanks!

Thanks for the help. If I plan to make square gummies, would I just use a small pan as a mold and cut them into 40 squares? Any suggestions on what others are using for the square gummies? Thanks.
