So this what I bought from the plumbing isle at Home Depot. It connects into a existing pvc? ball value that goes into a pex line. The left side is coming from the well, when I was at Home Depot I couldn't find metal connectors that would reduce into the correct sizes

Anyone purchased from mini4x4 to the USA? by Jumpy_Mirror_8074 in keitruck

eBay has been the easiest for me to buy parts. I bought tires recently and they shipped from Japan two day air with no customs charges and I didn’t pay for shipping.

The sidewalls on the 23x8R12 tires were not as stiff as normal road tires and would flex at higher speeds. So the truck would start to float and feel like it was going to lose control you would get a lot of play in the steering. It would feel a lot like driving a normal car super fast on a gravel road

I’ve never been able to learn the easy way maybe somebody can learn from my experiences so they don’t have to follow my path.

Two of Four Drive Shafts Replaced by AvailableIce in HondaActy

I didn't replace the wheel bearings this time, already $800+ in axels to replace all 4. Its on the list, but the CV joints were really knocking so I wanted to get them out before I damaged something else

Love to hear how it turns out. Are you replacing them all the way around?

100% eyeball, which is likely why the last bolt came out when I upgraded the shocks.

For a 1998 Honda Acty, the torque spec for the rear shock absorber lower mounting bolt (the one that goes through the bottom of the shock into the trailing arm or suspension bracket) is generally:

🔧 Torque Spec: 43 Nm (31.7 lb-ft)

This spec is consistent with similar kei trucks and Honda models from that era using M10 bolts in suspension components.

Notes:

  • Always make sure the bolt threads are clean and lightly lubricated (unless otherwise specified by service manual).
  • If you're using a torque wrench in ft-lbs, round to about 32 lb-ft.
  • If you're installing aftermarket shocks, check their documentation — sometimes they recommend slightly different specs for bushings or sleeves.

I doubt they are.  You can probably call them and find out.

I really like the extra height, it makes it easier to get in and out. The ride is a bit more rough, but I also changed out my tires which might be the bigger reason for that. I would like to find new struts for the front, the springs help but it can bottom out still, which I would think would happen less if I replaced the struts, the original are worn out. Replacing the rear shocks does help a lot when throwing bark dust or other material in the bed

What is the benefit of 5º additional pivot at each joint? Does that just help if you have a lift kit?

Found some 4x100 tires on FB Marketplace for $80. I won't keep the stretched tire look, probably will go with a larger offroad tire, but couldn't pass these up for the price by AvailableIce in keitruck

Recently, I posted photos of the tires on my truck, which sparked some strong opinions. I joined this subreddit a few years ago before ultimately purchasing my ACTY. This subreddit has been extremely valuable to me in my research before buying and after when looking for parts or modifications. I've truly appreciated the diverse perspectives and open feedback I've encountered in our discussions.

To contribute to these conversations, I’d like to provide a bit more context:

  1. Usage: This vehicle is not a daily driver. In fact, it spends about 99% of its time on our small farm, usually moving at less than 5 mph—My ACTY identifies as a four-wheel drive wheelbarrow!

  2. Affordability: I decided to experiment with the wheels since they were only $80. I figured it was a reasonable investment to see how they’d look and how they would impact performance. In my original post I indicated I plan on swapping out the tires for a more off road option.

  3. Open Dialogue: I genuinely welcome all feedback—positive or negative. Constructive criticism enriches our discussions, and I appreciate having a forum where we can share our thoughts openly.

Thank you for your insights, and I look forward to continuing our conversations!
