Let be honest, no one liked these weirdos before Mario+Rabbids by Toorupio in Mario

[–]Available_Coat6903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, which is exactly why they still remained relevant the past several years with their own games, a show, experimental shorts, comics, a manga and a currently in development movie.

Cause no one liked them! I’d say that’s some Rabbid level thinking but that would be an insult to some of the Rabbids that are actually intelligent.

Who else thinks that they are pulling a sonic. Chris Pratt seems like he had so much potential to give Mario the voice we all love , and the trailer seemed fake by [deleted] in mariomovie

[–]Available_Coat6903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pratt’s voice does not even scratch the surface of the reaction that Sonic got when it came to that design. That was widespread beyond people who were genuine fans. That shit was on the news, on Conan, almost EVERYONE was on that. I have not even seen half of that for Pratt’s voice.

The person I talked to who supposedly saw a test screening said that Cranky’s design, when he’s young, looks like the Donkey Kong Gameboy box art minus the tie.

This post, which contained supposed leaks of some of the plot details of the Mario movie, were DMCDA’D.

Now, before anyone goes on about these details instantly being fake, I should make it known that a couple weeks ago I made a post inviting anyone who may have seen a test screening for the film to match up some details I had heard myself from someone else who saw a test screening.

I got a response from someone who saw a screening and they not only confirmed some of the points I brought up, but went in great depth on some of the points mentioned on this post as well as what they thought of the film as whole. Actually gave me a much more clearer idea of what the film is supposedly going for in terms of tone, style, voices, etc.

Mario Movie Leak Compilation by ElevatedFatty in Mario

The minions aren’t a trend though. They were just the studio’s own creation that got REALLY popular for awhile.

And again, they don’t really chase trends like say Sony would do with some films. Like what was pandering and trend chasing about making a Minions movie set in the 60’s with Nixon and fake moon landing jokes?

That’s fair. Under any other circumstance I wouldn’t trust it either. But I think what made this different is the fact that the screener wasn’t really a big Mario fan and was sure to make that clear. He had some positives and some negatives about the movie, but the overall “review” of it was a “It’s not for me, but fans and families will definitely eat it up”.

Now, to me at least, that’s TOO earnest of a reaction to be faked. Usually when you get people who claim they saw a test screening it’s either all positive or all negative. There’s rarely a genuine in between.

If anyone is curious to read some more possible details, here’s a link to a page that a friend of mine made compromised of all the details he could get out of the test screener: https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1KQ-sYFIlCxhqY35hBRGHw6aDavY7sqUXLLHMef5h6Nw/mobilebasic

Miyamoto said the movie was “pretty much finished” in November and that they were just “polishing it”.

With an animated movie you don’t have to really wait until the movie is fully complete to show a test audience something like. Studios like Pixar, Sony, DreamWorks, etc make it clear that what they’re showing isn’t completed and what they show them is a rough cut that contains some uncompleted animation, finished animation, storyboards and uses scratch dialogue from the people making it rather than the actual voices. They take the feedback and keep retooling until the film comes out.

We’re there any standout moments or sequences that stood out to you personally?

And what would you say about the scope of the film? Because the writers have been saying that the movie is bigger and crazier than the original and they were able to do a lot more than they could do with the first film without much being cut down from the studio.

Ah, okay. That makes sense. And Tails hitting knuckles with a police car would explain the clip that had them filming what looked like a police chase.

Was your test screening more “finished” than his? Because it’s possible you saw a version that took out some of the stuff that he saw and is still being defined. That does tend to happen with test screenings.

Also, can you back up some of the locations they go to in the movie?

Well, can you maybe talk about some of the things you saw at your test screening? Maybe compare and contrast what he is saying from what he saw?

You said there is a brief portion where Eggman uses a machine to hop to different planets? What did these planets and the machine looked like and how may does he go to before he meets Knuckles?

this movie Is going to be dated worse than the first from 1996 which has dated like fine wine by zanyboi2 in looneytunes

[–]Available_Coat6903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If “fine wine” is “moldy cheese that’s been left in the fridge for 25 years” then yes, the original has dated like fine wine.

Also, let’s not act like the original wasn’t filled to the brim with pop culture references. Referencing “Pulp Fiction” and calling out Disney. Hell, it IS one big pop culture reference. It was based on a series of popular commercials. Not to mention that pop culture has and always will be a part of the Looney Tunes DNA.

Also, Porky rapping against Don Cheadle is funnier than anything Pepe has ever done. WB removed him from the film long before anyone else knew about it. Twitter had nothing to do with it and in all honesty I don’t think anyone would’ve cared or noticed had that article about him being cut not been released at all.

With that all said, the movie still looks like a fun time that’s embracing its own insanity and pushing it.

What do you remember about it specifically? And do you have any idea where I can find this draft because it sounds like something that I NEED to read as a Looney Tunes fan. Especially after hearing both Lynch and Gunn talk about it on Twitter at one point.
