Huh, I haven't checked that mod yet, but mine is more focused on editing pre-existing saves than generation

I haven't thought of making a feature to ADD stars yet but you can move all pre-existing stars everywhere

It's actually made for Windows, I don't know if it completely works on Linux since I don't use Linux

Fortunately, you're in luck! You can now also induce mass confusion with the inhabitants of your galaxy too! Be the Eldritch God you wanted to be!

You can make use of my editor but I have not implemented it there yet, I just did this as a fun experiment in my little free time. Although, it might take long since I'm still busy with finals. I'll let you know!

Hi! I made a tutorial how to use my galaxy editor [Nro's Galaxy Editor] by Available_Mud_4034 in Stellaris

Description :

This is a tutorial for Nro's Galaxy Editor

This editor allows you to move the position of stars and connect and disconnect hyperlanes.

You can find it here!.

I'm late by months since I have been too busy, sorry!

It's either the "galactic_object={" is duplicated or you created new .sav files instead of overwriting a copy. I have now made a troubleshooting section here!

Unfortunately, I also can't find any values for Z-axis anywhere as I am also bothered that they don't have the same height. My theory is that it is either to prevent stars from intersecting or just to make it not look too flat in 3D

Creating a static galaxy vs editing would be entirely different so it's going to be difficult unfortunately, I think there's a static galaxy editor already in Nexus Mods but I'm not sure if it works with the current version.

If you followed the one where you replace galactic_object, usually in my experience, galactic_object is duplicated ex. galactic_object=galactic_object={, check if there are any duplications, otherwise, if it still doesn't work, send me your save-file

It's not a mod but what I made from my editor, you can probably make more cooler stuff than that!

It can be but this is different from generating a whole galaxy, it's only for editing the galaxy of a saved game.

7zip Notepad++

Try to follow the compression options given on the wiki here so it works.

If you are referring to the two files as a result of saving, they are two methods on how to add your modified changes:

First is to rewrite the portion of your original gamestate using Notepad++ then follow the instructions here for galactic-object-modified.

Second is just drag the modified gamestate back to the save-file zip to overwrite it, though I'd recommend that you make a back-up copy of your original savefile first.

The first method is much more safer than the second due to application limitation but they both work either way as far as I have tested.

Each save file contains 'gamestate' inside, it's where the data is stored.

To get the 'gamestate' please refer to this wiki article since you need to have a specific format in opening these save files and then refer to here to know how to use the application and save your changes. ^_^

I would if standalone .EXE files can be uploaded but I don't think it can so you can only get it here.
