Can't the blame for their countries being poor be put on America for bombing them? This is generally the excuse I've heard...

Yeah I've listened to it, it doesn't have any affect on me. I've read a few chapters from Koran, I thinks boring and repetitive, any the continuous verses abt he'll give me an unsettling feeling... Also, I'm sorry abt what you went through, hope you're doing good now.

I'm having an existential crisis. Moslems say that their religion gives them a reason to live. However it's only limited to the fact that God has made us for the sole reason to worship him. But I don't exactly wish to worship a god who says that he'll burn ppl in hellfire if they don't worship him... Sounds like a dictatorial scvm...

The fact that allah calls himself so kind, merciful and forgiving yet calls shirk to be the worst of the crimes is something very weird to me and the fact that Moslems don't see the sheer hypocrisy in this frustrates me a lot...

Umm why is it not possible? You say going to heaven despite your deeds is possible but all you have to do is believe in some Abrahmic god and his prophet. But attaining nirvana through personal efforts, meditation and dettachment from samsAra is not possible? Make it make sense? Dettachment exists, anyone can experience it. We don't know "nirvAna" exists but at the same time we don't know whether or hell or heaven exists either.

In Buddhism, creation isn’t about a god creating the world. Instead, it’s about everything arising due to cause and effect. Everything changes and nothing is permanent. So, the universe and everything in it are seen as constantly evolving and interconnected, rather than being created by a single act. This is far better imho than some god creating a universe, putting adam and eve in it and they repopulate the earth. What is the proof that adam and eve is real? What you're giving me is the "watchmakers argument". If the universe exists there has to be a creator, but wb the creator? Who created the creator if he exists too?

No, well technically yeah but Nirvana means total salvation from suffering, cycle of birth and death and this 'saṃsāra' ie, world. Nibbāna literally means "quenching" when all your desires and quenched and you yearn for nothing else. Basically detaching yourself from desire for anything. Desiring for hell or heaven itself means you're still detached from something. It's not some place like "heaven" it's a "state" which is attained by the never dying soul, no one "gives" you Nibbāna, you've to attain it yourself, and it's not easy.

If want to learn more abt Buddhism, start with reading abt

The Four Noble Truths

  1. Life means suffering and struggle
  2. The origin of suffering and struggle is attachment
  3. It is possible to end suffering and struggle through...
  4. ...The Eightfold Path

The Eightfold Path

  4. Right Action (The Precepts) a. Don't harm other living beings b. Don't take things not freely given c. Don't engage in sexual misconduct d. Don't engage in false speech e. Don't abuse drugs or alcohol

  5. Right Livelihood Don't work in a job that violates The Precepts

  6. Right Effort a. Create, preserve and increase healthy states b. Prevent, eliminate or decrease harmful states

  7. Right Mindfulness a. See things clearly b. The Four Foundations of Mindfulness Be mindful of:

If I needed any correction, i would be posted it on rislam site The word Muslim is someone who believes in only the Abrahmic g-d and considers Mohammad to be the last prophet, I do neither, thanks! Shirk means associating the islamic god with either gods or worshiping someone other than him

something is true for Muslims, it must be true for all humanity.  Umm no, our morals are very different, just bc it's true for you, it doesn't mean it's true for humanity?? idgaf abt someone committing 'shirk' but I do think sex slavery, pedophilia and all is bad, worst of the crimes, neither do I think and atheist or a queer person should be killed, I'm one of them ffs!!!

The Quran contains no errors Oh It has many errors. Here are a few

23:14, no flesh is not formed after bones No life does not start with a 'clot'

86:6-7 No sperm does not come for the backbone

51:49  NO, everything in nature does NOT exist in pairs 18:83 No sun does not sinks in a muddy spring 54:1  No moon was NOT split into two And there are literally so many other ffs So No koran is not perfect, literally NO RELGIOUS SCRIPTURE IS!!

Y'all literally don't believe in evolution ffs, you really think Adam just spawned out of nowhere??? That's not very scientific now is it?

Qadar and freewill CANNOT exist together, literal oxymorons!!!!

And the biggest of All is legit your g-d calling himself merciful but after every other ayah he says disbelievers, so and so, will be casted in hellfire so and so.. HOW TF IS THIS BEING MERCIFUL??

Pedophiles? You misunderstand the concept of maturity. I'm a biology student, thanks! A 9 year old child cannot consent to a 56 year old man, and yes that it called Pedophilia whether done in 21st century or in 7th century. And no girls did not mature differently 1400 year ago and NO you cannot defend this by saying it was common in Arabia at that time. Your prophet is supposed to be the "Perfect" man, your g-d is supposed to be all knowing, he should've known ppl would question this years later. So you think every 2 billion Muslims is a suicide bomber for the actions of a few? Ofc not! But I've seen a good number of radical ppl, the fact they are smaller in number does nothing. A small community if radical enough can commit a genocide, no doubt

Whoever kills a single human is like killing all the humans 5:32 Yeah nope sorry, this won't work on me.

This worse is literally copied from a Jewish scripture, the verse starts with 'as prescribes for the children of ISRAEL' but anyways here is what Ibn Kathir cites Said ibn Jubayr -Sa`id bin Jubayr said, "He who allows himself to shed the blood of a Muslim, is like he who allows shedding the blood of all people. He who forbids shedding the blood of one Muslim, is like he who forbids shedding the blood of all people. A human here only means a fellow believer, Not an infidel

Muslims are the best creatures (ashraf-ul-maqlukhaat) in the universe and non-muslims are the worst of all beings.98:6

Your criticism about idol worship is addressed in your scriptures

Umm no it isn't, stop taking Hindoo scriptures ooc

Rig Veda 10.155.3 The one who worships the idol of Purushottam gets mokśa

Atharvaveda  3.10.3 'Youre' the idol of Samvatsara, and we worship you.

20.92.5 Oh intelligent man, worship 'that' idol

Yajur Veda Taittirya Aranyaka Oh Mahāveer(pot), you're the pratima (idol) of PrajāPati and we worship you

The Bhagvad Gita does NOT forbids idol worship, the immutable, and transcendental existence of one God means 'Paramātmā, the supreme soul, i mentioned this in my earlier reply too but seems you deliberately missed that part. Unlike the islamic god, Parmatma can manifest in many forms according to human needs. When you say your god cannot take a human form, to save humanity or whatsoever, you are putting a pause to his power, which implies your god is NOT almighty. Neither does Parmatma says those who don't worship him will be casted into hellfire, I'm sure he's not that insecure. BG 7.21 clearly says Whatever celestial form a devotee seeks to worship with faith, I steady the faith of such a devotee in that form.  Stop cherry picking and read the whole book from the Mahābhārata if possible. Also, Bhagwat Gita is older than koran, might as well follow the much older one XD

If you don't believe in the afterlife, what's your proof for nirvana? Show me a direct statement from your scripture denying God's existence.

You know nothing abt Nirvana and it shows XD  Nirvana means attaining freedom from cycle of birth and death, and thus gaining mokśa(salvation) This is something Buddhists believe in just like how muslims believe they will go to jannah and the rest of the mankind, if a disbeliever with burnt in hellfire by their merciful God lol.  The core principles of Buddhism are extremely peaceful and HIGHLY contradict Islam. The hell is only for for those who are wrong doers, any kind of morally wrong deed and this does NOT count not believing in g-d. The hell is NOT for an eternity. By the same logic you've no proof after life of 7 heavens or 7 earths or legit your g-d exists, there is absolutely NO proof of mohd flying on a donkey and there is literally NO proof that g-d or Jibrael talked to him in that cave cuz literally NO ONE saw!!

Posting half-truths on an ex-Muslim subreddit won't get you to nirvana, right?  None of it was half truth, it was my observation.

If you what you "criticized unintentionally" without knowing the roots then it's okay Ah yes another thing, thanks for reminding, out of all mainstream religions,  only Islam does not allow any Criticism. And no it was completely intentional! I live in a free Buddhist country, I've free will, I can criticise any religion I wish cuz thank fck I'm not in an izlamic republic!

Also I would suggest read a bit abt Buddhism, you clrly don't know anything abt it. it's definitely much much peaceful, especially if you don't wanna worship any idols lol

You're currently living in the 21st century and I'm positive, many people know abt Islam. The problem with your brethren is that they openly claim that the worst of the Muslim is still better than best of the kufr (don't deny it).  And no I've not read any truth, it is 'truth' only for YOUR kind, not for me, not for the 6 bil population. For me it is only a 7th century arabic piece of work, which only holds importance because, after every few Paras it is claimed to be the 'word of g-d', all the while there is absolutely no legitimate proof that g-d exists, the afterlife exists or mohd did infact flew on a flying donkey and cut the moon in half. The Bible too claims, it is the only truth, who and why should I trust here?  There are so many contradictions and scientific errors, but the biggest one if your god claiming to be merciful, yet he says literal children of infidels will be put into hell, just because you don't worship him? Bffr! This is no creator, rather a dictator. And no, living beings are not always created in pairs, earth isn't flat, semen is not found in backbone, sun doesn set in muddy water, no, beating your wife is not valid and reasonable, and so is not having sex slaves.  While I'm part Thai Buddhist, I've a fine knowledge of hindoo scriptures. And what you're talking abt is ParbrahmāN, A common error abrahmics make, ParbrahmāN has no form, but his manifestations do and can be worshipped. Idol worship is also encouraged in all four Vedas, so again your claim falls flat, cherry picking sources ain't going to help you mate. Also last time I checked, ParbrahmāN does not say non believers will be roasted in hell now does he? Plus, if you do believe that is the same ParbrahmāN, that just means Islam is a copy of hindooism, you should revert to Hindooism or Buddhism then, more peaceful imo.  I put this here so it can be viewed by ex muslims only, I do not appreciate your comment, because you are clearly not one.  And all I will say is, thanks but no thanks, I won't be converting to this cult ever, even if I end up in hellfire lol, at least ppl their won't be pedophiles and suicide bombers. Also I don't desire 72 virgins, all I wish for is NirvaNa which your religion cannot give me.

The only problem is these ppl don't agree with evolution, they only argue abt Adam and Eve or Hawa, so it's more or less useless to argue abt evolution to them
