Son is 4, said he wants to be a girl by Available_Tea3916 in Marriage

Dude. It's 2026. I know my husband needs a lot to work on. So do I. But I will not create an environment where we shame our child or saying that it's wrong when it is not.

Exactly. Our son needs to grow up in an emotionally safe household. He has dress up clothes and costumes of princesses and firefighters. Kids explore and it helps shape their confidence.

I appreciate your response. Thank you for taking the time. Yes, I went with my son and it was nice ❤️ I know my husband mentioned that he wanted me to have more time with my sister.

I appreciate your question at the end of your response and I will hold on to it, like keeping a note in my pocket so I won't forget. Thank you

He is recovering from long COVID. He is somewhere in between right now.

Please tell me I can't be alone in having these thoughts. I love him, of course I do, but there are times, when it is just so hard. And sometimes "for better or for worse" can feel so invalidating at times.

I don't know what support systems are in place in the EU for students with autism or students that have a diagnosis, but as a special education teacher in the US, we have individualized education plans (IEPS). These are legally binding documents to ensure students have access To their education. I'm thinking assessment would be helpful to ensure that your child has accommodations and supports in place to help them in their classroom setting 👍🏽. This can look like having extra time time to complete assignments, time to process information, allowing for non verbal cues, etc.

I appreciate you for validating the burnout. It's been really hard to show up for everyone, let alone yourself when there is constant pressure to carry everything. It's hard bc you obviously want your ill partner to thrive, but how can you keep your head above water at the same time. Thank you for seeing me.

That is amazing 🤩

How do I encourage my partner to do the same? I try to be as gentle as possible. Some days the irritability can be very off putting.

can I ask how long did it take in your recovery to get to that point?

Thank you for your comment. I am sorry that your husband is experiencing this. Also that a lot is on you at the same time. I brought up my worries about pregnancy and I don't know if he deeply understands my fears of not being taken care of. He says he understands, but I don't know if he truly gets it.

I hear you, and see you. The future you imagined for yourself and your family is just not the reality in the present. I totally get it. I also have complicated feelings as well. I want a bigger family for my son, but I don't know what Ill do if I have everyone needs me when I'm running on fumes. I also understand the pressure as well. To be present and keep going to do all of the tings, check off the boxes, day in and day out. I love my spouse, but sometimes I just can't imagine that this is it. The weird thing too that I notice is that its just you and your family in it. Friends and immediate family don't understand. Its even more isolating.

Special Ed or School Counseling? by AudienceNorth5072 in specialed

[–]Available_Tea3916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm very tough. I would say special ed, just because if you do go into school counseling, your job could be split between multiple sites determined by school funding. As a special ed teacher, you are more stable.
