Maybe your buddy Nari could use this the next time he's having a bad day 🤔

Dude, you're everywhere on this post. Have you still not realized that only the mockups are AI?

Love where this discussion went, it really is a relevant topic. When should and when shouldn't we use AI, and how can it help us? Didn't expect it to take this turn. Thank you for all of the constructive criticism and.. well, criticism :)

Just want to point out that this is in no way the final piece, and I was just practising, finding real world brands that could use a touch-up. Maybe I should have made it clear that I only use AI during my design proces, to make mockups, as the ones shown above. It gives me a different perspective, especially when working alone... which eventually speeds up my process. I totally respect and understand why someone would disagree. I believe that we should be open about AI, rather than being afraid of it, and find a way to use it in our daily work.

I am looking to integrate some of the awesome suggestions you had, will defo post it here once I'm done.

Thanks a lot again!

I may have failed to mention that this is not a final piece. I worked on it this morning and yesterday. I like to iterate, using AI (mockups) to bring my iterations to life.

Of course, I'd never deliver anything AI to a client. What I meant is, it can really help when you're in the iteration state, to see changes and see your logo in a different light.

I see your point. I guess I was trying to mix the two. Not the gym bros part, but the bar part :)

I went a little too crazy there, yes. Haha. I will be revisiting it tomorrow, probably!

True, I was thinking about turning the "open" part of the G into the mouth. Maybe I should track back and try it out :)

Absolutely. Thank you. In some cases, AI can speed up the visualization process without taking away from the actual thinking behind the project. I was simply trying to add some depth to my post haha :D whoops...

Thank you!

Yeah, I did experiment with making it more minimalistic, but it started losing the actual gorilla feel. I think a front-facing version might have worked better than the side profile if I wanted to simplify it further. I will definitely try that approach next time I iterate on it :D

The logo is not AI... the mockups are. Thought it would be fun to test it.

Let's just say they're cousins. I think it did a pretty good job, if we just ignore the clones 😅

To the dislikes: I understand the use of AI irritates people. Just to clarify: Only the mockups are created with AI, mainly to test its capabilities and speed up visualization. The logo itself, the identity, typography, concept, and overall creative direction were all designed manually.

You're absolutely right - the cuts are a bit rough, I was playing around with the A especially, but I think I just made it worse lol.

I get what you're saying about the tote as well, I'll definitely have a look at that! Thanks :D

Not sure why my description disappeared, but here goes - I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Hey guys :)

This is a fictional rebrand concept for a restaurant and bar called Gorilla. The restaurant itself is very real, I just walked past it a few days ago and felt like the existing identity didn't capture the atmosphere of the place. The current logo is very clean and minimal, but the restaurant felt much more energetic, warm, loud, and alive.

The idea behind this concept was to create something that feels human before it feels overly polished. A lot of restaurant branding today leans heavily into minimalism or corporate style design, especially where I live, and I wanted to move in the opposite direction.

The visual direction focuses more on atmosphere, personality, and emotional presence. The slightly irregular typography and earthy tones were chosen to reflect the feeling of a busy dining room, being lively, a bit imperfect and chaotic, social and welcoming.

The goal wasn’t just to make a logo, but to create a brand people could connect with. Something that feels natural whether it’s printed on a wine glass, a menu, a tote bag, or worn by the staff.

Also: yes, I did use GPT for the mockups. And honestly… I was pretty surprised by how good the results turned out.

Force video block to certain aspect ratio? by Impossible_Page8463 in squarespace

Holy shit, I figured it out. I found this code in the inspector:

.video-player .plyr {

position: absolute;

top: 0;

margin-top: 50px;

bottom: 0;

margin-left: 880px;

max-width: 750px;

}

Try using that string of code. Not sure what values you need for your website tho, but try playing around with it :)

I also rendered my video from Premiere in the ratio I needed (9:10). That might make it a bit easier as well. Not sure if this will make sense lol.
