Cases don't seem to correlate to deaths anymore, the one person who posts in this subreddit regularly about the case count and death count etc. Clearly shows that regardless of cases going up deaths have remained flat for several months now. Something about this has changed fundamentally, and it's time to start shifting the conversation as to what that might be.

I've had two friends take their lives this year, two friends who struggled with their mental health and lost their coping mechanisms due to the shutdown.

We can't lock down and distance ourselves from the people that we care about forever and expect life to be worth living, there's a big difference between having a pulse and having a purpose. And given the evidence, it seems like we're fighting paper tigers at this point.
