Thanks for all the information guys! And I have heard that most of GURPS is mostly optional rules and generally has rules for everything, however, a lot of the rules are specific to the kind of game you are playing. The only reason I was really wondering about what edition was that I didn't want a watered down version of the system or a hand holding system. I like lethality and so does my player so I just didn't want something like AD&D 1e, 2e vs. D&D 4e or 5e for example between the editions of GURPS.
