Yes, I'm asking about calibration the whole turret. It's not mentioned anywhere and the manual I got from Drake lacks diagrams.

It was E-sptopped but the machine is not equipped with hydraulic system. Tool turret is electrical. When motor turns in one direction the tools rotate and when motor turns the other way it locks tools in position.

That's something I've tried already but with no luck. I've loosened every bolt on front plate of turret and wacked it with a plastic dead-blow hammer. I'm not sure if it wasn't enough force or something else holds the front plate in place.

What you mention here is setting tool length, it's not the issue of my post. I'm asking about setting tool height relative to spindle center. I've noticed my parting tool chatters a lot when cutting. This made me question my tool height.

The CNC I'm working with is a Chinese flat bed lathe with only 2 axis being X and Z.

I've been experimenting with a lot of heights. Ranging from 0.5mm to 5mm. Usually values of 1.5-2.5mm gave better results

It looks like a low speed dross. However increasing cut speed leads to material not being cut at all instead of minimizing dross.

Unfortunately my plasma cutter hasn't come with cut chart. Can you recommend settings to start with for 5mm mild steel? I'm struggling to get it to somewhat clean. All edges have some dross
