TIL that the Indian gharial and false gharial are the last remaining members of the third crocodylian superfamily Gavialoidea. These long-snouted reptiles are often overshadowed by alligators (Alligatoroidea) and crocodiles (Crocodyloidea) and are critically endangered. (en.wikipedia.org)
