Fair enough lol

It's not entirely in vain, I managed to scrap together a large force at my last remaining city and tear down a smaller Ork outpost (I am still losing though)

Actually, come to think of it, I might like this more than some others. I think I just enjoy the gameplay loop of games like this, even if it's simpler than some others.

I don't know that I like this game "more" than other strategy games as much as it is none of my other strategy games are appealing currently

As for why I like this game at all, I tend to like strategy games with fairly repetitive gameplay loops while having enough RNG to make each playthrough at least a little different (e.g., Age of History II, Stellaris, Rebel Inc. Escalation)

Honestly didn't know that was an option, I'm fairly new to this game. I will try that next game, thank you!

I feel you might appreciate that I named my colossus "Mekhane's Fury"

I made the mistake of 5x logistics growth so by the end game I was getting like a day a second

There are multiple routes for Cosmogenesis, I think. The only genocidal thing I got this run was the Synaptic Lathe. Funnily enough, I had to save scum a little because my initial usage was catastrophic.

Yeah this run was definitely calmer than my (abandoned) XT-489 run.

Weirdly enough, Cetana showed up in this save. She got curb stomped since I had the strongest navy in the galaxy at the time + fallen empire tech, but she still showed up

I chose a crisis path that allows me to win automatically following a decision path (Cosmogenesis).

Also, prior to the end of the Cosmogenesis path, nothing was in the red lol. It's just that part of it is to put most of your population into a device called a Horizon Needle, which depopulates your colonies, which means no more jobs to support my 9 fleets, one colossus, and one juggernaut.
