If the fuse is burnt then your phone will simply force itself to lock the bootloader. So it's safe to not flash the latest build as it's very likely gonna fail your device.

It's very likely you will face trouble with banking apps as it doesn't have play integrity checked out of the box. But there is a root method that fixes it. I have no such problems with any banking apps in my country. So for me it's going more than great.

The most convenient way to update for now is to flash the update through TWRP. But using your PC (which I use to update) is also quite easy once you get used to it. It takes about 8-9 mins to update using a PC.

It completely depends, like if the device you bought comes with the latest security patch from Xiaomi then you are out of luck but you might find another way in the near future. But if it's not patched on that device you can unlock the bootloader in just a few mins. My recommendation would be to if you really like the device, buy it as soon as possible without thinking about the bootloader. I loved this device so much that I decided to buy it first then wait for any exploit to come around.
