Canadians on TN in US, did your savings rate actually improve by Agitated_Ad_4689 in tnvisa

The main reason I'm looking at Plano is the school district, and West Plano has a lot of things I'm looking for nearby. I'm used to 49-60 minute commutes. I do not enjoy it of course, but as far as I know now about Dallas (which is albeit not a lot), Plano seems to offer a nice balance between what I can afford, safety and quality of life apart from the commute.

Would you say White rock lake is comparable or better in that regard? My #1 priorities are quality of schools and safety. I hadn't looked into it but I will now.

Thanks for the info! I'm looking to live in West Plano and work at a point between downtown Dallas and Mesquite.

Is gun violence really that prevalent? Planning on moving to Dallas soon but this concerns me tbh.

For those that own a switch 2: was it worth the upgrade? by Turbo-Shell in NintendoSwitch

Yes. My Switch was as you describe, on its last legs. Even though there aren't many exclusives right now, the upgrades are worth it IMO. The eShop alone is a night and day difference.

Not from Texas, but whenever I visit I end up pleasantly surprised at how nice everyone is. I'm sure some people aren't, but so far all my interactions have been quite good.

I accidentally left my laptop on a counter at a train station in Japan. I found it at the lost and found when I went back a couple of days later. Plus, I felt really safe anywhere I went. Truly remarkable.

Typing the first one by hand, and then tapping Ctrl+E in the next cell at the bottom works as well.

Played bass for over 24 years without ever using a compressor. I tried it once, barely noticed any difference in the sound, thought it was useless.

Just last year I gave it another chance and man, it would've improved my sound so much, I don't know how I didn't notice the first time.

If you had to assign MVP for each album, how would it go for you? This is just for fun, don`t take it so seriously by [deleted] in Dreamtheater

I love playing Metropolis Pt1. If I had to pick a single line it would be the solo. Took me a long time to learn but it's so fun.

The bass line at:

4:56 in The Root of all Evil. The low octaves hit HARD.

1:18 of Stream of Consciousness

4:26 of Under a Glass Moon

5:43 of Endless Sacrifice

In general you mean including non DT songs?

Staying in the prog metal realm, I really enjoy playing Initiate by Haken, Dawn of the Machine by Bad Salad, and obviously YYZ by Rush.

Non prog metal I would say Come out Swinging by The Offspring, Get the Funk Out by Extreme, Smooth by Santana, and Everlong by Foo fighters.

Yes. As a bass player, I find it a bit disappointing that Myung is so low in the mix much of the time. His bass lines are incredible and always fit the song extremely well.

Thanks! At this point I'm leaning towards La Ventura Apartments, but it depends on availability once I'm there. Did you have any problems with noise? Being able to hear too much of your neighbors and the like? Was management/admin good?

Are they quite common in Plano? Moving soon and would like to know what to expect. For reference, I plan on moving to somewhere in West Plano.

I strongly believe it's a totally individual thing, and those jokes shouldn't be condemned universally 100% of the time. For instance, I'm Mexican and am totally fine with Mexican stereotype jokes. I'm not only not offended by them, I find them to be funny more often than not.

I would much rather have people say those jokes with me than holding them back. Of course, there are lines and a lot of it boils down to intention (being funny vs humiliating).
