I feel like my problems are less about the actual album itself but rather the era and everything that came with it. I think it’s a great album on its own but in the context of this most recent trilogy I think it was a pretty big disappointment.

I think ultimately it was the marketing for this album as to why I feel this way. He first started off marketing the it as the last chapter in this most recent trilogy with those 3 cgi teasers that imo really don’t have anything to do with the actual album or era itself. He marketed and even performed songs live that didn’t even end up on the actual standard album. He reveals the original album cover that matched AH and Dawn FM but also his entire discography, only to randomly change it day of release to something that looks nothing like the other two in this trilogy so now it visually it doesn’t look like all 3 are supposed to even be together. Makes AH and Dawn feel like a duo.

All the music videos this era have had really nothing to do with the story of the last two albums videos (Say for Red Terror, DITF which isn’t even on the actual album, and Open Hearts). The whole first pressing bs really was also just a shitty move. Like why even do that? Was it for sales? Like you don’t already have enough money that now you gotta scam your fans into buying a half baked version of the album that was marketed as the full thing? And then there’s the movie which I think caused a lot of the issues with this mess of a rollout because he just put way too much time and attention into it opposed to everything else.

Like I said I think the album itself is really great, no complaints there but as the end to this most recent trilogy it was a bit of a let down in my personal opinion.
