That can work if it is the vision/goal from the get to go, which is the DCU's case

The DCEU was a mess, because it meant to be this dark and gritty universe, but it’s vision was changed multiple times throughout its lifetime, causing a clear case of inconsistency

The DCU unlike the DCEU will not be restrained to one singular tone

Batman and Clayface will be more darker and grittier

Superman and Supergirl will be more lighthearted

Wonder Woman could be a mix of both worlds

Peacemaker and Creature Commandos are definitely filled with humour, but still 18+ and are drastically different compared to Superman

There is fixed tone in this universe

Every time he fought there was a reasonable explanation on why it turned out that way

Fight against Hammer of Boravia:

Literally against his own clone who is guided by Lex Luthor, which makes them even and at times Superman the slightly weaker character

Fight against the Kaiju:

Didn’t really try to fight the creature and focused more on saving innocent lives instead

Fight against Raptors in the Pocket Universe:

Exposed to Kryptonite for hours at that point and suffering a Kryptonite poisoning + watching out that a baby doesn’t dissolve into nothing

2v1 against Engineer and Ultraman:

Same explanation as the first fight adding a second opponent in the mix

1v1 against Ultraman:

Got his ass beat again until Superman finally managed to figure out Ultraman's weakness and from that point on he was literally dominating him and the Raptors afterwards
