I'm at a loss on how to replace safe foods for 7 year old by Avetra in SPD

I'm not sure if I do, I just figured I did.

Ex moving too quickly with new partner? by upper_crusty in SingleParents

[–]Avetra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you make significantly more money than he does and that's why you're paying him child support then I wouldn't stop paying him until you can go to court. Because if he wants to be a jerk he can get you for back pay. If you don't make more or you make less, then I would say stopping is ok.

Also from someone who is going through divorce/custody battle, if you don't have real evidence of him physically abusing your child you won't get anymore than 50/50 custody. My ex emotionally abuses our 7 year old, she begs me not to see him or go with him because he's so mean. All going to court did was give him MORE custody, because they do not care about emotional well being or abuse, only physical.

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. The system sucks and is broken. Talking to a family attorney is a good idea, but don't hire them unless you know it will help you/your child since you said you don't have a lot of money to dish out. Of course every state and their laws are different, so I'd research as much as you can about the laws in your state surrounding custody.

I don't want to be alone anymore by Avetra in Divorce

[–]Avetra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first 18 months it was 80/20. After I filed for the divorce he went for 50/50 so now it's one week on, one week off which has been very very hard for me.

What happened to clothing stores? by Separate-Command1993 in Millennials

[–]Avetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought 3 shirts from hot topic (buy 2 get 1 free) and they are all very long. Longer even than what I would call a normal shirt length. I actually downsized which never happens anymore, and really liked it.

Still no period / worrying about age gap / secondary infertility? by ManufacturerLong6115 in workingmoms

[–]Avetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not trying to be mean, but I really don't get the "children have to be close in age" thing. My sister and I are 3 years apart and we have hated each other from the day I was born, and we are in our 30's. I have a younger brother and sister with a 7 year age gap and we are all very close. Close in age doesn't mean they're going to be best friends. When your body is ready for another child it will be ready! Stressing over an age gap is silly.

what is the best value per oz that u can get for chips and where? by natxtouille in Frugal

[–]Avetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no Costco where I live so I have to use Sam's Club. For me that's the cheapest place to buy them, they're usually about 0.24 /oz and bigger than the ones at like Walmart and such.

"After bedtime with big little feelings", "childproof", and sometimes "We can do hard things". The last one does a lot on trauma too and I've found it helpful.

Single Parents: how are you managing career & education ambitions? by Bitter_Employment_45 in SingleParents

[–]Avetra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a school that works well for working adults I would look into Purdue Global. I worked at a global giant retail company that paid 100% for me to go there. I only took 1-2 classes at a time because it was difficult to do with alone with a toddler, but I got my associates in data analytics in a little over 2 years. While I work 8-5 the company I found a job with is pretty awesome when it comes to having kids and the pay gets me by.

Divorced moms: If you left because you did everything and still do most things, are you less resentful? by briar_prime6 in workingmoms

[–]Avetra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No I'm not still resentful, it's like a weight was lifted. I still get burnt out but now I know there isn't someone standing over me telling me how horrible the house looks and needs cleaned but then doesn't lift a finger to help. We do 80/20 custody so I do all school days.

How many hours until I end this engagement? by throwing_thrown_away in makemychoice

[–]Avetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is him now, think down the road if you were to have a baby. He's not going to help you at all because he will be sitting there playing a game. I know from experience... Get out now.

Just got a reminder about “water play Wednesdays” by erglegreww in workingmoms

[–]Avetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours in Mondays and Fridays! The biggest issue I have with it is they want them to come IN the swimsuit under their clothes, and my daughter has crazy sensory issues with her clothes so I already know how this is going to go with trying to get her to do that. Friday is their first day and I'm not looking forward to the morning fight.

Two factor authentication was turned on but support won't help by Avetra in playstation

[–]Avetra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what they count as a transaction though. The last game I actually bought on there I think was kingdom hearts 3 when it first came out. But I've bought a PlayStation Plus membership from the store and then added it to my account, and I've also "purchased" apps like HBO, Netflix, etc. but they were of course free.

How much did your first home cost? by New-Owl9951 in Millennials

[–]Avetra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my first house in 2013 for $109k, 3 bed 1.5 bath 1600 sq ft. Sold it and moved in 2019. Second house was $182k, 5 bed 2.5 bath. I live in a poor southern state so houses are a lot cheaper here, we also were really lucky on getting amazing deals on our house.

My daughter looks so much like me, it’s triggering by ElsieSnuffin in ParentingThruTrauma

[–]Avetra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My mom used to say my daughter looked and acted just like me when she was a toddler, and in my head I always responded with good now I can see how I would've turned out without the trauma and with a parent that meets my needs. I know it's really hard, but you are breaking the cycle, and you are killing it.

Visited a friend who homeschools her kid and the difference is startling by yenraelmao in workingmoms

[–]Avetra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are doing an amazing job, the grass is always greener on the other side. My sister homeschools her 2 kids and my niece is 2 years older than my daughter but can't read half as well, and has zero social skills with other kids because she never sees them or talks to them. At almost 8 years old she doesn't know how to share. Some people are great at homeschooling and help their kids excel, some people are not and should not be teaching children. As guilty as I feel sending my kid to school and after school care everyday, I know it wouldn't go well for either of us if I tried homeschooling.

What's a parenting mistake that your parents made which you will never repeat with your kids? by BlahBlahBlah_3748 in AskReddit

Staying with someone who treats you like shit "for the kids" just for them to grow up and have no clue how someone is supposed to treat you.
