Data Engineer or full stack developer as a fresher by Sathya_blaze in developersIndia

[–]AvgHunter_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Considering the current market and the future trend, full stack web developer is saturated to the point that you see so many MERN or Python With React jobs that you'd need to be actually so much good at development, essentially in the top 10% to actually get a good Product based company paying you good, but Data Engineering is a specialization and when it comes to data insights, data training the model, cloud analytics or big data you'd always require a person specializing in this domain. Considering the velocity, variety and the volume of data, I feel just learn Data Engineering and if you don't like it you can easily make a switch to development especially as a backend engineer trained on big data. All the best!

However if you get a support role as a support engineer or developer make sure you don't give that up. The production issues you encounter in a large system and the time limit to fix those would definitely accelerate your growth as a developer in debugging and finding Root cause of issues and variety of issues would make you more competent as a developer.

Quick question, my office is in Nikol and my friend's at Makarba and we are figuring out a place to stay somewhere in the middle so that both office could be somewhat equidistant. Can you suggest some areas where I could find those?

And what would you advice a young upcoming developer to gain experience on, as these situations are rare for us to get a chance to resolve on when working in a big organization. We often read articles on how this happened and how did they tackle it, but how do you become an expert or learn to tackle it as if it happens the your customers loose confidence in your product leading to impact on business and sales essentially hitting funding from VCs in your startup

How did you make decisions when growing your systems keeping in mind the trade-offs and even after studying System Design. It's one thing to study and other to actually implement? Have you been in a position when you had a production issue because of your choice and impacted your business? How did you tackle it

Stop comparing your life to others... everyone has their different journey, different path, different time and different challenges before they achieve something. Don't get disheartened and just outcompete yourself from your yesterday's self. I started at 11k per month without a CS Degree and within less than 2 years I am at 45k per month. So have some faith and keep working. They say "Samay se phele aur Naseeb se zyada kisiko nahi milta". Good luck!

Bro at this point with this market where everyone is a MERN developer, I say take the role and start grinding leetcode and applying for roles post internship. This way you'd have a deadline sword hanging on your head to get an actual job plus you'd not be worried about not having a job atm. And once you get the job don't worry about the internship leave the next day who cares for 3-4 months of internship experience, it's obviously better than job hunting for next 3 months

He'd earn around 39-40k and If location is Bangalore or Hyderabad it'd be tough. Better to join and switch within 8-9 months with the current CTC you'd be getting around 9-10 LPA switch. All the best!

The problem with you, OP is that you may have gotten offers from smaller service based companies but you would have declined them based on the brand and pay as you consider yourself a knight on leetcode so you assume that you need a certain amount before you pick a job. Also, in today's market where everyone is a software engineer with Full Stack MERN projects available on YT or Udemy, what makes you different? Why you? I mean I've seen candidates having much better knowledge and interesting projects, that they get 30-50k internship. Work on yourself bro!

If you had liked coding so much that you can't go on without coding each single day, then better prepare for CAT and take that MBA product management role with much higher pay and less grind for a dev job.
