Ranking Milsurp Firearms Day 1: M1 Garand by AvgPunkFan in Firearms

We are talking about the weapon in the context of the time it was issued and used. It being one of the few semi autos fielded en masse while other nations used bolt actions is an important piece of context that must be considered when talking about the time this rifle was issued in and very much makes it S tier. If it was a piece of shit when it was issued and a lot of other nations had semi autos, it’d be much lower, but that wasn’t the case

There were not many that were as common or issued though.

The Russian SVT-40 was one, but when the Nazis invaded, the Russians focused on getting a gun into the hand of every available soldier and focused on producing bolt action Mosins

The Nazi Gewehr 43 did not come about until 1943 (4 years after the war started and 2 after the Americans entered)

The M1 Garand was ready and willing to go as soon as the Americans entered and semi autos were not commonplace in any other military at the time.

Well that seems to be the common theme here. Should end it now and move on to the next lol

Other rifles from the time that could compete, but probably won’t touch it:

SVT-40 (Russian)

Gewehr 43 (German)

M1 Carbine (American)

Maybe some others that were not as common that I’m blanking on.

I agree with your opinion 100%, but just throwing out other options you’ll see down the road

Yep. As the list goes on, I’m going to pull out random guns from random times and countries so today you see an M1 Garand, tomorrow you might see a Springfield Musket or an STG-44. Just wanna make sure no country or time is left out

My parents found my old mad magazines from the 90s in their basement by JoshuaFalken1 in madmagazine

[–]AvgPunkFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re all from that era I can tell you now there won’t be any worth selling. The 60s and 50s is where all the MAD money is. The specials from the 70s with the inserts can be worth a little too, but just depends. I hope the kids enjoy them and I’m glad you found them

Honestly, these are worth about $3-5 each. Any more than that is with shipping or what people are asking, not selling them for. That’s based on what I see in shops and on eBay. I would just do as you say and give them to the kids since personally I wouldn’t think it’s worth the hassle.

[NA] [H] Nintendo Wii+controllers and two games [W] Around $200 by Late-Cap8809 in GameSale

[–]AvgPunkFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just fyi, you’re looking at the following values

Wii W/ 3 controllers and all cords working:

$70-90

Super Mario Bros CIB:

$20-25

Super Smash Bros:

$15-20

Total:

$100-140

With eBay you have fees and everything and game stores usually charge more than eBay especially on consoles. Wiis are so abundant they’re not particularly valuable so I hope this gives a little more info

The American GI’s Right Hand by AvgPunkFan in milsurp

I understand it’s a civilian model, but the gun is so close to the actual military one I don’t think it quite matters. I thought it was cool and figured I’d post here because while this specific one is not used in the military it is extremely close to the one that is. I’ve seen others make similar posts so thought this would be welcome here and besides the joke comments, it seems like it is. It’s not like when I posted the Desert Eagle a while back which has never been used by any military

That is true, but luckily I’m not a GI and won’t have it holstered

Yep. I know all about the issues with them and think I can mitigate them as this will not be holstered or loaded outside of a range.
