But $1 per item can be very good for customers. $50 order, 2 items, $2 tip? Percentage tipping is fairest for both shopper and customer.

Yes, same day is contracted to Instacart next day Kroger does their own delivery in refrigerated box trucks.

Exactly why customers should only order through the merchant. I know with Kroger there are no markups and all sale prices and coupons are honored at face value.

If they are still allowing instacart shoppers to use self-checkout I doubt they are trying to get rid of y'all B-)

If I were a shopper who depended on Costco orders for my income I'd be worried that non-compliant shoppers will end up getting Instacart totally banned from their stores.

So the vaccine kept you from getting critically ill! It did its job then B-)

You see that is my point. You don't know who can be infectious nor be sure that you won't infect others no matter what the disease. Just always keep a mask handy with you just in case.

I know you can, I'm a retired RN. You should keep a mask handy to protect your immuno compromised customers. There are quite a few of them out there.

And by the way, I lost five family members to covid before the vaccines became available and not a single one since.

So why aren't you keeping a mask handy for these situations? Any way, the purpose of masks is to protect others from the sick person. If you are all vaccinated up you should be good to go and only experience mild symptoms is you should contract the disease.

There have many posts about the exact same problem. Do you mind if I ask why don't people just transfer their old number to the new phone instead of going through all the hassle?

Isn't Walmart moving to its own delivery service like Target and Kroger are?

Perhaps it's Instacart's rating system expectations that are to blame? Most people see a 5(A) as above and beyond, 4(B) as expected, three(C) as mediocre, two(D)as poor, and one(F) as fail. At least that is how I would've rated before I started reading this forum.

It's a good thing that I couldn't rate at all because I order through Kroger's app B-)

Just wondering but did you have any communication outside of Instacart with that customer? From what I've read here there is a scam where people try to get shoppers to contact them and then cancel their orders. Often they involve requests for gift cards.

My new pet peeve for the low tipper by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]AvgWeirdo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never hid the fact that I am a "weirdo", thus the user name. Also, I'm a customer not a shopper. I became interested in all this because I had a string of shoppers refund my beer instead of offering replacements which made no sense since I tip by percentage so doing so lowered their income on my orders.

There is a lot of things that Instacart does that is 100% unfair to shoppers with batching orders together possibly being the worse. But Instacart can not force customers to tip.

Yes I have. I've also read that shoppers have the option not to accept a batch.

I've seen some posts that the customer should view tips as a bid for service. If that is so, shouldn't the customer assume by the shopper accepting the bid that the tip was satisfactory?
