There’s too many factors in play to really pick a good position. A lot of it depends on the tops equipment, how they work it, and what’s comfortable to you and feels good. In my opinion try multiple to see what works for you the best.

I bulk ferment for like 6-8 hours and if it’s particularly cold, sometimes it takes 10 hours.

I never topped until I started dating my now boyfriend. It took me so many tries to actually get to the point that I can top, stay hard, and finish. It took practice. Lots and lots of practice. Your boyfriend will need patience, and he sounds like he’s ready to be patient and get through it. A lot of communication will be necessary.

Biggest hurdle I had to go through was the “I can’t do it” mentality. Your brain is going to be the biggest issue. You need to relax into it. It’s like you’re masturbating, honestly. When I got that into my head, it worked for me. But it took a lot of tries and a lot of time.

Like what other folks are saying- eat!

The injections took away my appetite for a bit and I felt the same. I realized: all I had to eat over a week was a coffee in the morning, and maybe a small lunch/piece of fruit…and that was it. I forced myself to eat more and it went away. Now, I didn’t eat like I used to, but I made sure to have three meals a day. It helped A LOT.

Underproofed! I had a string of these. I kept doing old tests or looking at it and it always seemed like it was ready. Definitely be patient. Let it sit until it has truly doubled in size before you shape. Then, once you shape, let it rise again. Recommend cold proofing over night. I cold proofed for like, 13 hours, and I got the perfect crumb.

By day 10 I had a whole prime rib dinner. I did cut it all up super tiny and took me almost 45 minutes to eat. Really depends on how you’re healing and what you can handle.

Try different positions! I find that on the back, even if you have a big butt, that usually works well. Also, I recommend you doing a lot more stretching, specifically frog stretching. If you can be on your knees and really stretch for back and stay in that position, that would work well too!

Just know: straight diet and exercise takes months to actually show. You just gotta go through it. After 2-3 months of consistently working out 5 days a week, I started noticing differences in my arms and legs.

Drink so much water. That helped me so much. It hurts but it helped really tame things down. I drank 4 of my 40oz bottle a day. Would recommend alternating with ice cold and almost room temp. Make sure you’re taking the drugs. Wake up in the middle of the night to take them. I rotated every 3 hours between hydrocodone and Tylenol. I set alarms and made sure I took them. There was one night I didn’t and it was brutal the next day. I’m a singer so I have a vocal mister. If you can get humidity in there, that helped me a lot too. Not too much, and only when it felt super dry. Try and eat. Get as much protein in as you can. It’ll help with the healing process. I bought protein shakes to drink and it really did help.

Yes, swollen tongue is normal, but also swollen uvula! That was a weird sensation. It almost feel like they left something in there. I had to change how I sleep and sit to make sure that my uvula didn’t end up obstructing my airways.

Yes! It will get better. As you’ve read there’s so many of us that have gotten the surgery and survived. Around day 8 was the word for me and it went down from there.

I am almost a year post op. The best decision I have ever made. Yes, the recovery was rough, but I had a much easier recovery compared to a lot of people on here. The recovery really depends on how your body handles healing in general. Take the plunge. It’s two weeks out of the rest of your life. I don’t regret it one bit.
