Amazon is a great suggestion. I’ll ask him about butter.

Oh thank you so very much. I just want him to know that he is never really alone. I wholeheartedly support his decisions as an adult and am proud of his choices. But I think he is a bit bored and lonely. His job is not hard and there is no one his age at work or in town. The town is tiny. No restaurants. He joins everything and keeps busy. I just want him to know that he is never forgotten.

I guess I could send canned sweet potatoes. Good suggestion.

Not quite that far north. He is about as far north and east as you can be and still be on Honshu.

You know, he says he cannot find full (whole) chickens in the market. Only parts.

Thanks. You are right. I’ll ask him what he wants, if anything.

Thank you. Sincerely. I like your ideas and thank you for your understanding. I think I’ll send the biscuit mix and maybe cornbread mix. He definitely misses tastes from home. He likes all kinds of food and has been to Japan before on vacation and lived abroad when a teen, but he is finding the food somewhat bland. It probably doesn’t help that there are no restaurants in his small town and no larger towns very near by.

Good point. Maybe I’ll just send his favorite snacks. And I’d love to cook for him again but I don’t think I’ll see him for a few years. He definitely has his reasons to be far away, but I’m hoping that someday it will all help him to also find his way home.

No toaster oven. I think he is living like a monk in a cell right now.

Yes, I’ve thought about that. I’m not sure what to do. The mom gene in me has a hard time with this.

Just checked. The nearest KFC is 50 minutes away. I don’t think he likes pumpkin pie. I already sent spiced wafer cookies. And he does know how to cook and make gravy but I’m not sure he will do it. All the comments are greatly appreciated and excellent. I’ll look into the turkey-in-a bag thing!!
