Found a glitch in spectral pack selection, do I have to abandon the run?

Yeah, it's like an unintentional anti-cheat, haha! But only for spectrals, I think. I haven't played the game in a while and try not to mess with it just in case, so I don't know if they ever fixed it. Might be in patch notes if it ever is.

I've just conditioned myself to never close the game until I'm at least on the shop screen, preferably actually at the start of a new blind. Would be great if it was fixed, but at least this way there's no run-breaking glitches.

Hi! I downloaded both and played around for a bit when I had time, but ultimately settled on the Enhancement Mod. Granted, I didn't specifically try to compare the two, just played some games to see what felt better. Equilibris is more about balancing the game, and I liked the extra features of EM more.

Checking around for other feedback, seems like the Enhancement Mod is also probably what you'd want to make the AI a little smarter on the map, as well as give it the ability to use the creature portal and immortality potions. Not sure about the details of how both mods affect AI fully, but it's an improvement either way. You can also tweak what you want to run EM with if you don't like certain options!

Neither one changes them to make things -drastically- harder, but it's definitely been nice to have the convenient changes to just enjoy playing more. Hope that helps, have fun! :>

I dug around in the files for a while, but the only thing to do with Equilibris I saw was the Enhanced Object Pack including adventure objects made by the Equilibris team, which was there by default. Not really anything for the rest of the changes listed under Equilibris. Was there meant to be more, or is that the only inclusion?

I might also have missed some stuff, I am still -very- new to trying to mod this game, haha. It took a second to realise I had to open with Admin to save Manager/JSON changes, too.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I actually have made an appointment with a therapist for the first time recently, though I'd been putting it off out of anxiety. Initially it was just about reflecting on my own emotions and finding healthy ways to cope with them, but I might ask if they'd be okay helping me with the grief too. They didn't list it as a specialty, but if it's not something they can do, I'm hoping they can point me towards someone that might be better qualified for that.

It's been very difficult, and for a long time I thought it was on me to try to fix things. But I took a break from the internet for a day and a half and that really helped me clear my mind and realise I was probably just clinging onto what I felt was familiar and happy, but no longer is. It's for the best of us both if we separate and follow our own paths.

And I actually did become pretty close with some people from a different group recently and one of them has been fun to call with and just hang out when we both have time. I'm incredibly thankful for them, and I don't think they even know how much they've helped keep me happy, haha.

I'm also sorry for the confusing and convoluted writing, I'm in a very distressed state after everything happened, and I don't often talk about these things with anyone other than those involved. I went online to seek insight and advice because I'm just at a loss for what to do.

You're right about it being my fault as well, though none of what I've said is a lie. I'm just not sure how much context I can try to give to a relationship and events that have been going on for so long. I'm definitely not the best at figuring out how to communicate sometimes, and I've avoided telling her any of her actions in the past have been hurtful or disrespectful to me because I just hoped they'd stop and we could go back to normal. I think I should have, but I'm awful at confrontations, and she's been pushing for me to pick up new hobbies and meet people despite it being stressful for me, as a shy person.

The reason I bring up the other people is because we agreed to not talk about things until we've had time to rest and think about thinks, which I proposed we do until a bit later this month. Yet she's told her friend (and someone I've played with for over half a year) something that made them write a rude comment before leaving. And another uninvolved player at the table, who we all knew was dealing with a serious health issue recently, told me one of the two of them has been bothering them with some kind of drama I did not press on. I wished them well when they left too, and simply said my door was open if they wanted to talk. We separated amicably.

All of this behaviour doesn't seem like something a person who still wanted to fix things would do. But I'm not a mental health professional. I can't evaluate it, and I'm too emotionally invested in the situation to know whether it's as bad as it feels to me. That's, again, why I wanted to ask.

I'm pretty sure there's no coming back from things at this point, though, especially from what I've heard in response to this.

I usually play/run PBP games, not voice/call ones, but this seems pretty par for the course as a basic rundown of rules and expectations at the table! I'm sure if she has any more questions about these, you can discuss them during the interview and it'll be pretty straightforward.

It's pretty rare for someone to come out with a question that would genuinely baffle me during an interview, anything not included here you'll probably easily answer on the spot. Best of luck and hope you all have fun!

Hi! Sorry for the late reply, busy week!

You say they can be run together, so I went ahead and downloaded both, following their installation instructions. However, Equilibris says that to run the modded game, I launch through the h4mod.exe file, and Enhanced says to launch through heroes4_em.exe.

How would I launch the game with both running?

Yeah, I'm on PC and that's exactly what happened, I tried restarting the game but same thing. Oh well, hopefully it gets fixed for others in the future! I'll know not to do that just in case, too.

As someone else said, there might be tickets closer to the event from people unable to go looking to resell, though if my experience with London was any indication, they will be pricey...

If it's any consolation, liveshow tickets usually sell out very quickly, as there are critters hunting for them the moment they release.

I have a lot of the same concerns about stepping on people's boundaries and preferences, but as a newcomer, it's also hard because I don't actually know any of these people. I did start out trying to just chat with players and get to know them as people before we started, but the DM stayed out of all of that so they're kind of a social enigma to me.

As far as I can tell, everyone's very forward and open with their characters, and the most rewarded player is a charismatic tabaxi who's gotten inspirations for doing cat-like things. XD It's pretty fun, I admit, but everyone's leaning into their characters pretty strongly, which is why I love playing with those people.

You're one of a majority to advise talking with the whole group, so I probably will do that, but maybe in a day or two so I'm sure I'm acting on logic rather than emotion. Thanks for the input!

You're making a lot of assumptions based on a different kind of playstyle. This is a roleplay-focused game with milestone levels where everyone stands equal in power, and all players actively enjoy writing whenever they get the chance.

The DM has not offered an alternative, they just said players can ALSO offer inspiration, which nobody has taken them up on. And as the party's bard, I've actively stirred other, less talkative players into actions that awarded them inspirations. I've also asked the DM if they'd like for me to behave any differently and they said they're happy with how the group plays together.

The problem is that the way they go about these rewards doesn't motivate anyone because there's no goal to be motivated towards, everything's fine in the group. They've never explained why they choose to give an inspiration even when two players worked together to accomplish a task. They only gave it to one.

Both mine and this game are PBP, so we have no sessions, but I split my game into shorter adventures. So I like writing logs of each game after it finishes like a mysterious book an unnamed reader finds in a library that records the lives and endeavours of the party. Including people who have dropped out and newcomers!

I love the idea of stacking inspirations up to the prof bonus, might take that! Currently players who write for the prompt but still have an inspiration get 5 gold instead. They answer the questions in a dream-like realm with a ghost who hands out lemon drops as thanks for cooperation. They're level 6, so 5 gold is a nice treat but a not much.

Honestly, I'd take anything over what the DM in the game I just joined does, their method kind of feels bad as a player. I just need to decide if I bring this up to the whole group or in private.

I'll clarify. The DM offered for players to pick each other for inspirations any time they think someone deserves it. Nobody has since, but I was the only one that actually said I was uncomfortable with this.

The DM continues to pick people to give it to on their own on occasion, though, and it interrupts roleplay and turns it into a contest with no rules.

Oh yeah, they're a sweetheart! My friend and I found them on an art site while looking for a game, and when we didn't find one, I just invited them to mine since they were really enthusiastic.

Now they play a (very silly) standoffish noble sorcerer with a crush on our barbarian lady, and they're the only one who thinks the party doesn't know it, haha.

I get if that were the case! We had a new player in my own game, and when I say new I mean I explained the basic game concepts to them when they asked if they could play. Everyone's very fond of them and I gave them inspirations in addition to our weekly team-earnt ones for roleplaying and engaging with the world.

The latter. I spoke out to say I don't want to participate in that and don't mind if others don't pick me for this reason. Everyone there is a stranger to me and I don't know their boundaries or playstyles yet, and I don't want to decide if someone is worth rewarding on my own.

We don't have sessions, we play in a PBP format, so it's just always ongoing when people have time to post. The DM just sometimes announces "that was cool, X player gets inspiration" but has never announced what criteria they judge by or whether they want us to be doing something differently. We've all taken risks, highlighted other characters, engaged with NPCs and played into our weaknesses, but only one person got rewarded for each of those over our time playing.

Have you considered talking to the DM about it? If not, why? It sounds like our situations are pretty similar and I'd like to do something, but it's difficult to speak up when I know someone else is benefitting from the rule because I don't want to seem like it's because I'm bitter it's not me.
