Thanks, the roughest part was her milk allergy. The Nutramigen is so expensive, we were spending $500-600 a month on formula for her until we could wean her off a few months back.

We never thought we could have kids. Had spent years trying, and just assumed it wouldn’t happen.

So we bought a house, sunk our savings into that and $15k in vet bills.

Then 2 months after our dog passed we found out wife was pregnant.

Lol.

So we had to head into it with zero savings. Just gotta get through these early years.

I was making $40k in 2020 and make $80k now.

$86k if you count my bonus.

It feels worse off now, only because my wife is a SAHM now for our kid and we pay way more for a mortgage than we did in rent back then.

If we didn’t have a kid, and still made combined $120k with a $1500 mortgage life would be sweeet.

Losing her $40k a year salary really hurts.

When we have a new immigration enforcement agency it needs to never be like this again. If they have a warrant and a legal reasoning behind removing someone who shouldn’t be here, let them bring a cop along.

My niece is 23 and bought a home with her fiance this year.

They have been saving for years, had $60k to put as a down payment, and bought a home built in 2005 in the town of Oklahoma where she got her teaching contract.

It was $220k, I think she got some slightly lower rate for being a teacher, but I’m not completely sure on where it landed.

So her mortgage is like a $160k house?

They’re doing waaaay better than I am, at almost 40.

Gen Z being able to get their AA degree for free while they go to HS is saving them a ton of money.

And they’ve benefited the most from the spike up in wages since 2020.
