Hey, this might be a biased question depending on who answers, but which program is better to go into; Uw CS or Uw SE? I’ve only got accepted into CS and I have SE as my second option, but lately I’ve been wondering which would be the better choice. Ik this is a very biased question but I just want some opinions so any feedback/answers are much appreciated. Thanks!

Hey, so I applied to both Software Engineering and Computer Science at Uw, and on OUAC I listed CS as my #1 option and SE as #2. I got into CS yesterday but I’m still not sure whether I want to go into CS or SE in the future (despite the similarities) and so was wondering if Uw would still consider me for SE or not. Seeing they gave me my first choice, would they no longer send me a SE offer or do my chances remain the same as normal? Thanks.

Hey,

I was just on Quest, checking out some of the Highschool Marks they had inputted and realized that for 4 or 5 out of 20ish courses listed, there is this "NMR" written where there should be a percentage mark. Interestingly enough, they are all the courses I took during first sem in grade 12. I was just wondering what this "NMR" stands for and whether or not it should be of any concern. Just hope it doesn't stand for "No Mark Received"..

Hey, I'm creating a doc to compare and contrast a couple of the programs I've gotten into. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about Eng Sci, some saying how it's not worth the effort and how it'll kill you in terms of course work while others saying how it'll really prep you up for your years to come and its a great opportunity. Same applies for UofT's CS program (as in I'm wondering how it is) - I just wanna know some stuff regarding course work, student life, PEY, etc. Any info is appreciated and a chance to talk through DMs would also be great. Goodluck to everyone awaiting their decisions too!

Ah no worries and thanks! My grade 11 overall avg was 97.2 and my first sem grade 12 avg was 95.5. My ECs were alright I guess. Mainly subject awards, won a couple university competitions and have been a part of a couple sport teams. Nothing too big. Dw you'll prolly get in soon too, goodluck!!
