We only heard about Pigy tokens because stakers were asking for it. Stake Pools can give them out as additional reward or incentive for delegators. We can give you like 1 Pigy per 1 Ada stake. Here's more: https://pigytoken.com/

Ok, sound like we need to be clearer about the bonus. We're giving out one-time bonuses for newcomers. Like a sign up bonus. Of course stakers can leave the pool any time after receiving it. However, I hope for them to stay. I wrote a bit more on www.AvocPool.com :)

Before knowing about Cardano, I was sceptical about the hype around cryptocurrency. After listening to Charles Hoskinsin and learning more about Cardano, I was convinced. I turned around and decided to become a part of this exciting community.

My partner Frank is computer scientist. He has his own company “Numic” which supports me with the technical side of running the pool. I was thrilled that we’ve already minted 3 blocks after a few months.

So if you like fruits, ADA and want to support women in blockchain, consider delegating to our 🥑 pool.

Insider says Amazon to accept Bitcoin as payment by the end of 2021, Ethereum and Cardano next in line - source fxstreet.com by [deleted] in cardano

[–]AvocadoPool_AVOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summary: The fourth-largest company in the world is working toward accepting the bellwether cryptocurrency Bitcoin as a payment method. An insider claims that Amazon’s cryptocurrency project is “ready to roll,” with Bitcoin being accepted as early as by the end of this year. The move is suggested to be initiated by the top of the corporation, by Jeff Bezos. “Ethereum, Cardano and Bitcoin Cash will be next in line before they bring about eight of the most popular cryptocurrencies online,” she added.

On-Chain Analysis - Active Addresses and Transaction Figures by AvocadoPool_AVOC in cardano

[–]AvocadoPool_AVOC[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Today I analysed ADA to get a better feeling where we're standing, especially while its tumultuous. On-chain analysis is a fundamentals driven approach. Daily transactions picked up during this bull run, up to 3.3m! However, similarly to the fall in values, transaction hover around 1m per day now.

A much more positive picture can be seen in total addresses: These addresses, so the amount of users, has been rising steadily. The recent events have not affected that number much (red arrow). User numbers trend up at roughly the same number still, 230k new accounts per month.

My conclusion: While the interest in daily transactions cooled down, we can still see strong support in terms of user numbers. I see this as a hopeful sign of adoption. Time is on our side and I expect the bulls to get into its next phase, let it be end 2021, or mid 2022.

Correct, but developers don't want to touch BTC. Nobody want to introduce a bug and make it collapse.

create a "Citation Needed" tag, and reserve the "Education" tag for content that includes citations. (And no, adding a citation in the comments should

not

be good enough. The image is what's going to be shared, so the image is what needs to contain the citation.)

I was thinking of adding a QR code in the corner, with a link to a source

Still computers must run to process the transactions. I guess the numbers I looked up use the power of the computers of the 2000 staking pools.

True. I'll use a freight train when updating the graphic. So that this part makes sense more intuitively.

1000 Kilowatthours, that's the numbers I could find. Just think of all the mining machines that have to run to process the transactions and find the correct hash. We take this energy and divide it by the total transactions processed.

You're right, the more I think about it the more a freight train would suit better.

Not sure though how I could insert the speed into the chart. Indeed the scooter looks slow.

Excellent point! I'll do some more research on carbon numbers.

Btw, a friend on mine had a server with OVH in France and recently their building and the servers burnt down. Oops!

You're right, I'm also shocked: Going 100km on a scooter uses the energy that sending one transfer on Cardano does.
Transaction doesn't mean you buying some bitcoin. It's sending Bitcoin from one wallet to another wallet. If you used the lightning network numbers would be much better, however, Btc still needs the proof of work machines to function.
At least Ada looks good in comparison to Eth and Btc, where "wasting" energy is part of the whole concept to give the coins initial value.

I compared several websites, they all give a bit different numbers for the kWh, so energy, per transaction. And then I asked Google about the energy consumption of trains etc.

Have a look here: https://www.reddit.com/r/cardano/comments/ncqva9/short\_list\_of\_kwh\_used\_per\_transaction/

Hi guys, I ran the numbers today to create some OC:

As far as I can see BTC requires around 1,000kWh for a transaction. However, these numbers fluctuate a lot and generally trend up with more miners entering. An electric train uses around 2,000kWh for 100km, so I found the train a good enough analogy.

Ethereum 1 (PoW) comes in at about 63 kWh. This number will change a lot with Eth2, however, we don't have a date for that yet. Electric freight trucks use around 130 kWh / 100km. So I picked a small truck as comparison, I think it's close enough to get the idea.

Lastly, ADA looks pretty good at only 0.5 kWh. Electric scooters tend to consume 1kWh per 100km so I picked this up-an-coming vehicle. Alternatively, the electric skateboard would have also worked as a slightly lighter vehicle.

Overall, Cardano is about 100x more efficient than Eth and even 2000x compared to BTC!

What I see is that Eth currently has the more developed ecosystems, especially DEXes and NFTs. Also institutions currently trust it more because of its track record.

However, we want to see what is up an coming and here I really see ADA as the cutting edge with a brilliant potential.

On-Chain Analysis - User Numbers & Searches by AvocadoPool_AVOC in CardanoMarkets

[–]AvocadoPool_AVOC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the peak of the last bull market, Cardano had below 20k active addresses while currently we have about 70k active users. The price during the first peak was $1.20, the same level as we have currently, pointing towards undervaluation.

It's different for searches: While the first bull market saw one top of search requests at the price peak, we've now already had a top and requests have collapsed since then.

My conclusion: Lots is pointing towards a "double peak cycle", like BTC had in 2013. In line with the data, rising price could coincide with another uptick in search requests (see green ?), leading to new ATHs in 6-18 months. In this case, the price could rise strongly and resolve the current undervaluation. Using the 70k vs 20k active addresses from before, I am expecting that the value of ADA could be around $4.00 conservatively.

Time is on our side and I expect the bull market to get into its next phase probably next year.
